This vintage Martin D-28 was manufactured in 1967. This guitar features a solid Sitka Spruce top and solid strait grain Brazilian rosewood back and sides. The mahogany neck features an ebony fretboard, pearl dot inlays and the original Grover patent pending tuners. It is all original with the exception of the replace or slightly re-shaped bridge. Other features include the ebony bridge, tortoise pickguard and white binding on the top and back.
There really isn't anything quite like a Brazilian Rosewood Dreadnought. With huge bass response, a brilliant mid range and a powerful and crisp high end, this D-28 does what you need it to do. It feels just like an old friend. It's been played well over the years and has matured nicely. It has a great broken in feel without losing it's sense of solidness.
This vintage Martin plays and sounds wonderful. Players will immediately gel with this guitar and it could make a wonderful addition to any collection.
This instrument has had a Gruhn Appraisal as you will see in the detailed photos below. The neck has been professionally reset after the appraisal. There is crazing all over the top and scratches and dents as expected from a well loved vintage instrument. There is a small crack on the top which has been caused by the shrinkage of the pickguard. Additionally, it has moderate fretwear and includes a hardshell case. We have attempted to capture all the wear in the detailed photos below.
