National's Style 1 Tricone is patterned after the original instrument made in 1927 with its functional art deco industrial design. It is made of brass, highly polished and bright nickel plated. The round, mahogany neck has an ivoroid bound ebony fingerboard. The slotted headstock has the National decal and three-on-a-plate vintage-style tuners. A tricone has greater sustain and more harmonics than a single cone guitar.
Current history -- The Style 1 Tricone was re-introduced by National Reso-phonic Guitars in 1994. In the same year National also re-introduced the Style 3 Tricone with Lily of the Valley engraving; in 1995 National re-introduced the Style 4 Tricone with Chrysanthemum engraving; and, in 1996 National reintroduced the Style 2 Tricone with the Wild Rose design. Over 1,100 of our Style 1 Tricone have been made to date.
