Papa's Picks are made from casein, a milk protein resin. While this material has been popular in Europe since the 1930's for many different products, it has recently become an excellent alternative to plastic for guitar & mandolin picks. These picks can really bring out the full range of tone from your instrument, from enhanced bass response to clarity in the mid-range and treble registers.
Like all casein picks, the Papa's are fairly stiff (which many professional players prefer), and should not be flexed as they can quickly crack. They are also hygroscopic in nature, so you don't want to lose yours in the laundry!
Each Papa's pick comes in it's own individual box. Seem like a lot to pay to improve your sound? Try one, and you won't go back to plastic!
They are available in five thicknesses: Lite (~0.9mm), Medium (~1.2mm), Medium-Heavy (~1.7mm), Heavy (~2.2mm), and X-Heavy (~2.7mm).
