Lakota Leathers mandolin straps are made on the Pine Ridge reservation, South dakota USA. Each of their braided straps use Elk hide exclusively and are hand braided by a member of the Lakota Sioux Nation. They use Elk hide because it is softer and stronger than any other leather... that's why Ronnie McCoury uses a Lakota Leathers braided elk hide mandolin strap. The standard braided strap length is 43" with three adjustment holes at the strap button end and a scroll loop at the other.
