The Antique Brass Single Cone shares most of its features with the standard Delphi; the difference being the finish on the body, coverplate, and tailpiece. These components are brass plated and finished in an aged patina to give it an antique look. The Single Cone is a traditionally shaped steel bodied guitar with a hard rock maple neck, ivoroid bound rosewood fingerboard and slotted headstock with open gear vintage-style three-on-a-plate tuners.
The Single Cone is an updated version of the famous painted steel body National Duolian and National Triolian 12-fret neck guitars built from 1930 until 1934 by the National Stringed Instrument Corp. In 1935, the guitars were produced as 14-fret instruments until the early 1940s. The Duolian originally sold for $32.50 and the Triolian originally sold for $45.00.
