SOLD: Pre-Owned: 2010 National Style 0 Deluxe 12 String Bright Nickel Finish with Etching and Engraved Wriggle Pattern

Hear This Instrument: 2010 National Style 0 Deluxe 12 String Bright Nickel Finish with Etching and Engraved Wriggle Pattern
Recorded In-House on a Sony PCM-D50 handheld recorder with no compression or eq.
2010 National Style 0 Deluxe 12 String Bright Nickel Finish with Etching and Engraved Wriggle Pattern

The Style O Deluxe is an enhanced version of National's most popular model, the Style O.  A hand-engraved wriggle pattern, with double cut lines, borders the body and coverplate.  Position markers have been upgraded to mother-of-pearl diamonds.  The neck material has been upgraded to figured maple with an engraved ivoroid headstock overlay and matching heel cap.  Tuners are vintage-style engraved, open gear. This 2010 Style 0 was custom ordered as a 12 string.

Blind Willie McTell and Leadbelly certainly saved the 12 string from being added to the annals of history. We have to believe that if they were around now, they would be adding this cannon to their arsenal. Strummed this 2010 Style O Deluxe is un-imaginably loud, yet it responds remarkably well to fingerpicked passages, and chords have a complex depth to them that you don't get from 6 strings. Slide players will love how the Brass body helps their long notes sustain with beautiful overtones, however their bass note runs are well defined and never muddy.

Hard to distinguish used from new this 2010 National Style O is in excellent condition. There a few very light scratches to the top and back that we did our best to capture in the photographs below. Original Hardshell Case Included.

SOLD: Pre-Owned: 2010 National Triolian 14 fret Steel Body Walnut Burst

Hear This Instrument: National Triolian 14 Fret
Recorded In-House on a Sony PCM-D50 handheld recorder with no compression or eq.
2010 National Triolian 14 fret Steel Body Walnut Burst

The National Triolian 14-Fret captures the look and feel of the late 1930’s W-Series Triolians. The name refers to the original cone design of the first 12 prototype models, which had a single cone top covering up a tri-cone setup inside. They kept the name, even after switching to a single-cone design for the production models.

The thin-gauge steel body is highlighted by a formed back and traditional ribbed sieve-hole coverplate and provides increased resonance over the traditional thicker steel bodies. Each body is hand painted in walnut-burst. The maple neck clears 14 frets to the body and features an ivoroid-bound rosewood fretboard complete with inlaid mother-of-pearl position markers. Tuners are vintage-style engraved, open gear.

This 2010 National Triolian sounds incredible... it is loud, punchy, and brash yet defined on single note runs and chordal figures. The 14 fret neck allows easy access when playing with a slide or fingers. The signature sound of the early models of the 30's were made famous by Delta Blues players such as Blind Boy Fuller and these current models will blow the originals out of the water. If you are a Delta Blues piedmont style player, this is your instrument!

Hard to distinguish used from new this 2010 National Triolian 14 Fret is absolute mint condition.

SOLD: Pre-Owned: 2010 National Vintage Steel Tricone

2010 National Vintage Steel Tricone

The National Vintage Steel Tricone was designed for players who prefer the tone of a steel body, but want the look and feel of a plated guitar.  The name “Vintage Steel” refers to the plating process.  The satin-nickel plating on each Vintage Steel instrument is designed to look aged with use and the passage of time.

The tricone design is perfect for players who focus on open tunings and slide. Some famous vintage blues artists of the past have used National Tricone style guitars include Tampa Red, Bukka White, Peetie Wheatstraw, and Black Ace.  Tricone resonators, when compared to the single cone models, are more mellow in tone and have a bit more sustain.  While not quite as loud as the single cone counterparts, this National is not lacking for volume, you will cut through any ensemble with ease… with a tone that is smooth, pure, and full of reverberation.

Once played for a few years, this "Vintage Steel" National will begin to take on a vintage, aged appearance reminiscent of the early Nationals we all fell in love with.

This 2010 National Vintage Steel Tricone is in absolute mint condition, with little to no wear to note. Original Hardshell Case is included.

SOLD: NRP Black Rust 12 Fret Steel

Hear This Instrument: NRP Black Rust 12 Fret Steel
Recorded In-House on a Sony PCM-D50 handheld recorder with no compression or eq.
NRP Black Rust 12 Fret Steel

The National NRP Black Rust looks like it just came out of the swamp, perfectly suited for those hot southern blues licks. This National features the new color, Black Rust, and each finish is unique. Nationals have been played by many blues legends, but they definitely were not playing one with a finish like this. No two of the Black Rust finishes are alike. The best part is, you don't have to wait 50 years for a vintage finish, you can have one right now!

This model is a 12 fret version of the Black Rust series. Each Black Rust instrument is finished with a multi-staged hand-textured finish for an individual look and semi-smooth surface profile. Capturing the look and feel of an original 12 fret National Duolian, the thin-gauge steel body is highlighted by stamped "f" holes, a formed back, and period-correct, traditional ribbed coverplate. Each mahogany neck clears 12 frets to the body and features an unbound ebony fretboard complete with mother of pearl position markers. Vintage style plain tuners, ebony nut, and "National" stamped headstock complete the look of this classic.

With the ebony fretboard and the ebony nut, notes practically jump of the fretboard and chase that hell-hound on your trail down. Classic blues fingerpicking sounds like it is coming from a porch in Mississippi on a hot summer evening. Authentic in it's tone and in it's appearance, the Black Rust NRP drives itself to the Delta!

SOLD: National ResoLectric Revolver Black

Hear This Instrument: National ResoLectric Revolver Black
Recorded In-House on a Sony PCM-D50 handheld recorder with no compression or eq.
National ResoLectric Revolver Black

National is a constantly evolving company, who is always trying new ideas, reissuing classic models, and pushing the envelope as far as tone is concerned. With that in mind, we are proud to introduce the newest member of the National family; The National ResoLectric Revolver! Always an incredibly popular model from National since it's introduction, the  National’s ResoLectric has gone through a few changes in its 19 years of production. The current model uses an audiophile-quality Highlander preamp to mix both the magnetic and piezoelectric pickups.

A hand wired  Jason Lollar P-90 pickup sits in the neck position, and a Highlander piezo transducer is fitted under the saddle.  From Jason Lollar's website regarding the P90 used in the guitar: "The P-90 everyone is talking about. Scatter wound pickup with de-gaussed Alnico 5 bar magnets. A fatter P-90 tone with smoother treble. Sounds like an old P-90 rather than a new pickup that still has some hard edges. Great for fat clean tone or harder driving rock with more grind."  The output of each pickup is controlled by independent volume knobs, with a master volume knob to control the instruments overall output level. A 3-way toggle switch selects which pickups are active. The solid African Mahogany body is capped with an African Mahogany top bound in ivoroid. The Honduras Mahogany neck clears 14 frets to the body, highlighted with a diamond inlaid, ebony fretboard.

The difference in the Revolver? A stunning matte black finish on the top, back, and sides, matched with ebony tuner buttons, rather than the flamed, sunburst top. The standard issue Pearloid headstock overlay, and pickguard match the new matte black finish to a "T"! Gone is the Sea-foam green badge on the headstock,  in it's place a stark, noirish, Black and Gold National badge to further set the Revolver apart from it's brother.

The Tone? Everything that you expect from the folks at National. The Lollar P90 in the neck has a fat, singing lead voice that is perfectly suited for slide players looking for the ultimate in classic Electric blues tones. The Piezo sounds like an acoustic national, only perfectly amplified. You have a myriad of tones at your fingertips, which makes it easy to switch between a preset rhythm and lead sounds. Don't worry, The Revolver will chase away that Hellhound on your Trail!

SOLD: National Custom Style O w/ Lightning Bolt Design

Recorded In-House on a Sony PCM-D50 handheld recorder with no compression or eq.
National Custom Style O w/ Lightning Bolt Design

Can you believe it? Yet ANOTHER one-off, custom guitar from the fine artists at National Reso-Phonic! Let's take a look at what we have in store for you this time.

While we are all familiar with the distictive Hawaiian palm tree design that adorns the Style O we know and love today, collectors and history buffs will recall a handful of alternate and prototype appointments that made their way onto this flagship model in that past. One such design screams 1930s art deco - the lightning bolt design. This brass bodied instrument is polished to a mirror-like shine, nickel plated, and finally etched with the lightning bolt deisgn. The maple neck is finished in a traditional sunburst. An ivoroid bound ebony fretboard and vintage style tuners complete the look of this timeless classic.

There weren't many built, as the Hawaiian design quickly rose to fame - but we are thrilled to have a one of the only reissues in existance! When Bob Brozman, esteemed National player and historian, felt the need to retire one of his vintage Nationals; the folks at National Reso-Phonic were kind enough to provide him with the first Lightning Bolt Style O. Call or email us today for more information!

SOLD: National Delphi Custom Metallic Blue Sunburst

Hear This Instrument: National Delphi Custom Metallic Blue Sunburst
Recorded In-House on a Sony PCM-D50 handheld recorder with no compression or eq.
National Delphi Custom Metallic Blue Sunburst

The National Delphi features steel body construction with a ribbed sieve-hole coverplate,  just like the pre-war original resonator guitars. In the 20's and 30's thousands of musicians discovered the punch and power of the original Nationals. The Delphi captures the classic sound and style of the originals, with the quality and features that modern players require.

The Delphi has a steel body and features a stunning custom hand painted Metallic Blue Sunburst body and coverplate with rolled "F" holes. It's mahogany neck meets the body at the twelfth fret and includes rosewood fretboard, cross-grained ivory binding, dot markers, slotted headstock with  the traditional National "shield" logo decal and three-on-a plate tuners.

The tone is a more refined version of it's thin gauge steel brothers, with a ringing tone and plenty of lush overtones. Jump jazz chords sound right at home on the Delphi, while still retaining that famous steel bite that Nationals are famous for.

Recorded In-House on a Sony PCM-D50 handheld recorder with no compression or eq.
National Triolian 14 Fret Wood Body Walnut Sunburst

We've received another 14-fret National Triolian in all its... wooden glory? That's right, my friends, the always daring folks at National have yet again introduced another replica with painstaking detail and accuracy. Hanging on the wall, it looks like any other steel body Triolian we have seen - even down to the "rolled" edge stylings around the body. But once you pick it up, it's light as a feather.

Each uses a maple-laminate body which is hand painted in walnut-burst with matching steel coverplate. The maple neck features an ivoroid-bound rosewood fretboard complete with inlaid mother-of-pearl position markers. A nickel plated tailpiece highlights the unique look of this wood body guitar.

SOLD: National Vintage Steel Tricone Cutaway VS

Hear This Instrument: National Vintage Steel Tricone Cutaway VS
Recorded In-House on a Sony PCM-D50 handheld recorder with no compression or eq.
National Vintage Steel Tricone Cutaway VS

This Cutaway Tricone is a modern shift on the classic Tricone design. The body has been modified to allow access to the higher frets. The body, coverplate, and tailpiece sport a satin-nickel plating that will acquire an aged look with the passage of time, hence the "Vintage Steel" designation.

Once played for a few years, this "Vintage Steel" National will begin to take on a vintage, aged appearance reminiscent of the early Nationals we all fell in love with.
