SOLD: Pre-Owned: Composite Acoustics Bluegrass Preformer Dreadnought w/ Fishman Pickup

Composite Acoustics Bluegrass Preformer Dreadnought w/ Fishman Pickup

The name says it all: this is THE guitar for bluegrass flatpickers. With a superb, traditional sound, yet extreme durablilty, this guitar works great in a mountain meadow or at your local bluegrass festival. Imagine classic, folk-roots sound combined with gorgeous cosmetics, the finest hardware, go-anywhere versatility and lots of punch, so you will be heard.

With all-metal, open-backed Gotoh 510 tuners, a custom rosette and vintage looks, this guitar possesses a voice that is steeped in tradition. The Bluegrass is set up with 13 gauge strings for flat-picking and for that punchy, hallmark hill country sound.

This special instrument is based on the Legacy with the Enhanced Traditional Acoustic Tailoring. This tonal selection allows not only for deep low end and clear highs, but also provides a more articulated mid-range to cut through the mix for those lightning fast flatpicking solos.

The Bluegrass Performer is built entirely of composite carbon fiber - making it impervious to climate for consistent performance wherever you go. The neck will always play as it did when you first fell in love; as the Bluegrass Performer features no truss rod. This means no truss rod adjustments are needed - ever! As are all of the guitars in Composite Acoustics' lineup, the Bluegrass Performer is handcrafted in the Lafayette, LA by skilled technicians.

This particular guitar is in good condition. There are a few marks and scratches on the body, neck, and headstock. There are some marks on the fingerboard binding and some fretwear. It has a Fishman Matrix Infinity under-saddle pickup installed with in-soundhole controls. It includes a hardshell case.

SOLD: Pre-Owned: 2005 Guild D-55 w/ Sunburst Top

2005 Guild D-55 w/ Sunburst Top

Guild's series of dreadnoughts have shared the stage with legendary artists like Johnny Cash to a newer generations like Gillian Welch and Ryan Adams. Guild introduced its flagship dreadnought, the D-55, in 1968. It was first introduced as a special order item only, but the response was so strong that within a few years it was added to the line as a regular production model. Since then, it has become synonymous with Guild's namesake.

The D55 is contructed of all solid wood. The top is built with AAA Grade Spruce and the back and sides feature Indian Rosewood. The D-55 has lots of presence and volume, while still maintaining balance and response. Not too punchy and but not too mellow - the D-55 is perfect for those looking for a tried and true dreadnought with vintage style. This particular one is built in the Tacoma, WA shop - which in my opinion are some of the best.

This guitar is in great condition. There is a slight indentation on the top upper bout near the far treble side. There is also a binding mark on the top lower bout near to end pin. There is some minor fretwear. It includes a hardshell case.

SOLD: Pre-Owned: Morris S-92 w/ Cedar and B Band Pickup

Morris S-92 w/ Cedar and B Band Pickup

We love getting pre-owned Morris on our shop, because they always find homes in a hurry. This guitar is a fantastic buy, and won't be around our shop for long!

For those unfamiliar with this small company, the Morris S Series is the ideal guitar for fingerstyle players. With comfortable string spacing, a rounded back, a thin low profile neck, and XX bracing on the top and X bracing on the back, this instrument has perfectly balanced tones and exceptional playability. The S-91 is built with Cedar and Mahogany; which brings warmth, response to the lightest touch, but clarity and definition.

The Morris S Series top is constructed with their original XX bracing Top pattern. By diffusing the positions of the bracing peaks, they are able to distribute the string vibrations from the bridge to the top with better balance, creating fantastically rich sounds that sustain well throughout the register, from the lowest to highest notes.

This particular guitar is in fantastic shape. It features a factory-installed B-Band UST-22L under saddle pickup with a A2.2 preamp. There are some minor indentations all around the endjack. There is also a small indentation on the top, near the lower bout on the bass side. There is some minor fretwear. It includes a hardshell case.

SOLD: Pre-Owned: 2003 Martin OM-18GE "Golden Era" (1930)

2003 Martin OM-18GE "Golden Era" (1930)

The Golden Era series from Martin is a faithful recreation of the original pre-war models that are, still to this day, considered the greatest instruments in Martin history. This little darlin' is unique in its own right; but it manages to capture all the mojo and heritage of the original 1930 OM-18 to a T!

The OM-18GE has an Adirondack Red Spruce top that provides endless headroom and punch. Don't let its small body fool you, it can take the heaviest handed flatpicking and strumming without missing a beat. The Mahogany back and sides bring crispness and defination; making flatpicking runs lively and direct, while chords boast clarity and note to note seperation that is a dream to record. The 30s style V neck profile fits comfortably in your hands, and won't hold you back from blazin' runs up and down the fretboard.

Specific to the period, the OM-18GE features Brazilian Rosewood body bindings and an top aging toner to mimic the instruments that are now of great vintage. But by far the most unique and period-correct appointment on this model is the banjo tuners. The Golden Era was a time of progression and innovation for Martin, and this is personified in this reissue. If you are looking for oldtime, vintage style without paying the price for an original guitar - this is the deal for you!

This guitar is in good condition. There are several indentations on the top, but none are glaring. There are some slight marks on the treble side edge of the headstock. There is some fretwear in the first two positions. It includes a hardshell case.

SOLD: Pre-Owned: 2005 Taylor 514CE w/ Cedar Top and Expression System Pickup

2005 Taylor 514CE w/ Cedar Top and Expression System Pickup

With articulate and crisp tones, tropical mahogany has established itself as a respected tonewood. Many consider the 514CE to be one of the best fingerstyle guitars in Taylor's lineup. A Western Red cedar top brings extra warmth and responsiveness to Taylor's most popular mahogany Grand Auditorium. Cedar is less dense than spruce, and that softness typically translates into a sense of sonic warmth. Players with a lighter touch sound wonderful on a cedar-top guitar, fingerstyle players especially.  A lighter touch will be amplified a little more then with other top woods. The Mahogany adds a crispness and seperation, a perfect quality to lend this guitar to both fingerstyle and strumming.

The 514CE is simply appointed with a wooden rosette, black body bindings, and a tortoise-style pickguard. It also features Taylor's "Expression" pickup system. The Expression System delivers an amplified tone that will satisfy the most demanding pro player, yet makes it simple for anyone to plug in and sound great.

This guitar is in good condition. There is some slight marks and playing wear on the top near and around the soundhole. There is a indentation on the back binding near the upper bout on the bass side. It includes a hardshell case.

SOLD: Pre-Owned: 2007 Blanchard Juniper w/ European Spruce and Bois d’Rose

2007 Blanchard Juniper w/ European Spruce and Bois d'Rose

We are always delighted to have instruments from small production luithers. Perhaps it's the intimate nature of craft, but we all swoon over them when they grace our shop - especially when they sound as good as this. This darlin' was brought into the world by Mark Blanchard of Eureka, Montana - her name is Juniper.

Juniper is a small bodied guitar with 14 frets to the body, built with Bois d'rose and European Spruce. Bois d'rose is a true rosewood originating from Madagascar. Visually and tonally, it boasts rich, lush overtones. The European Spruce helps brighten up the top-end without throwing the overall balance off. Juniper provides small body comfort, short scale playability and a clear balanced tone. This guitar sounds surprisingly full and rich considering its compact body size. Blanchard employs a refined and lengthy process to voice and graduate his tops. Using Chladni influenced techniques, it involves using a variable frequency sound wave to identify the resonances of a guitar top. While this method takes time and patience, it allows Blanchard to achieve superb balance and response out of all his guitars. Juniper is a fingerstylist's dream, achieving note-to-note balance with warm, rich response.

Juniper is beautifully appointed with Rosewood bindings along the body, neck, and headstock. The headstock is overlayed with a brilliant bookmatched piece of Brazilian Rosewood. The Gotoh 510 Delta tuners have a high ratio, perfect for discerning players who need precise tuning. With her visual and tonal balance perfected, you can't help but smile.

This guitar is in excellent condition. There are a few slight indentations on the top, all are less than 1mm in diameter and not through the finish. It includes a deluxe Cedar Creek case.

SOLD: Pre-Owned: 2006 Gallagher Doc Watson w/ Cutaway

2006 Gallagher Doc Watson w/ Cutaway

Gallagher Guitars have long been associated with the Watson family. In 1968, Doc and Merle Watson started playing guitars made by J.W. and Don Gallagher - a G-50 and a G-40 respectively. This orginal G-50 which Doc called Ol Hoss is on display at he Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, TN. In 1974 a guitar was made for Doc by J.W. Gallagher which incorporated some particular features Doc wanted. This guitar became the Doc Watson Model.

The Doc Watson model we know today is constructed of Mahogany and Sitka Spruce. That classic combination makes for an explosive cannon. Much like Doc's guitar, this one runs the gamut - beautifully covering both flatpicking and fingerstyle playing. When flatpicked; it boasts crisp, trebles and a driving, thunderous bass. But, fingerpick it a bit, and it mellows out while maintaining projection and clarity. The 1 3/4 nut adds to the versatility with it's slightly wider string spacing. If you are a fan of Doc Watson and his signature sound - this guitar will delight and enthrall.

This particular guitar is in great condition. The fingerboard had a small crack roughly between the 13th and 17th fret which has been repaired by Joe Glaser. There are a two very small indentations on the lower bout - both on the treble and bass sides. The fretwear is minor in the first position. It includes a hardshell case.

SOLD: Pre-Owned: 1995 Taylor Limited Edition GA-BE w/ Engelmann Spruce and Brazilian Rosewood (Prototype/Artist One Off)

1995 Taylor Limited Edition GA-BE w/ Engelmann Spruce and Brazilian Rosewood (Prototype/Artist One Off)

Bob Taylor and his crew will periodically release Limited Edition models in relatively small numbers. While these guitars are always looked forward to by Taylor fans, there seems to be more and more of this limited editons popping up. Do they really live up to the hype? Unlike some other series, this 1995 Taylor is truly limited in every sense of the word. Although this is not one of the original 50 made, this gorgeous Engelmann/Brazilian GA was acquired by a local Nashville songwriter directly from Taylor. We have had many Taylors come through our store and this is one of the finest examples we have ever seen!

The Grand Auditorium has been the mainstay of Taylor's Acoustic/Electric line for years. They took the shape and applied a purely acoustic design, resulting in an entirely new guitar. This very exclusive guitar is really a predecessor to the unmatched Presentation Series - the pinnacle of Taylor's current line. The guitar is built with top-quality Engelmann Spruce and Brazilian Rosewood. Tonally, it boasts all the prized qualities Brazilian is known for. The low-end is rich, blooming, and dominate. The Engelmann mellows out the trebles, but they are still sparkling and airy. Overall, the GA-BE shines as a fingerstyle guitar, with a broad dynamic range and incredible balance.

The GA-BE is highly appointed, the top is entirely inlayed with double-bound abalone. The body, fingerboard, and headstock are bound in Brazilian Rosewood. The fingerboard is adorned with the Cindy inlay pattern. A beautiful display of vines, flowers, and birds; the Cindy is just one of the additions that sets apart this special model. To top it off, the interior label is signed by Bob Taylor.

This guitar is in fantastic condition. There are a couple slightly rough spots on the body binding, and some minor fretwear in the first position. It includes the original hardshell case.

SOLD: Pre-Owned: Rainsong WS-1000

Rainsong WS-1000

Carbon fiber guitars have experienced a relatively recent gain in popularity. Whether you're a gigging musician in need of durability and low maintainance or the casual player who loves to always have a guitar in the trunk - it makes perfect sense. Rainsong is one of a handful of companies making such instruments; and have quickly become one of the most popular due to their high quality construction, crisp tone, and overall projection. This WS1000 fits the bill, and is a great example of the progressive work the folks at Rainsong are producing.

The WS1000 is made entirely out of carbon fiber - making it nearly impervious to any humidity and temperature changes and ideal for traveling. The body size is a well balanced profile combining qualities of both small and large bodied guitars. The depth of the body lends to a strong projection and rich, warm bass. Fingerpicking is where this one seems to shine, the a crisp, defined tone across the entire spectrum. Each note has an equal presence and superb balance. The deep cutaway makes playing up the fingerboard a breeze, and the rounded, thin profile remains consistant throughout.

SOLD: Pre-Owned: 2007 Baden A-Style (Cedar/Mahogany) and Fishman Aura Eclipse Pickup

2007 Baden A-Style (Cedar/Mahogany) and Fishman Aura Eclipse Pickup

Tradition - oh how it runs deep through the world of guitars. From the 14-fret dreadnoughts to the herringbones and abalones, some feel an indescribable draw towards the guitars from which all this folklore stems. TJ Baden, however, is here to sever ties with the past and focus on two things - tone and playability. Aren't those, after all, the most important factors? I am always thoroughly impressed with builders who offer simplicity without sacrificing quality - and Baden has captured that to perfection.

This Baden seems to share some tonal similarities with Taylors of comparable size. This isn't surprising, as TJ Baden was once the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Taylor Guitars. The Cedar/Mahogany combination boasts a crisp, clear, and balance overall tone. Balance is the key here, with even response when strumming and a beautifully clean response to fingerstyle. Fingerpicking really seems to be when the A-Style's it at its best ; as each note stands on its own and projects effortlessly.

The utterly unique cutaway design of the body gives easy access clear passed the 17th fret. The A-Style is minimally appointed, but not in a manner that appears cheap or unfinished. The fingerboard is unadorned, and the body is simply bound with mahogany and finished with a satin laquer. This minimalist approach may turn some off, but the killer tone will quickly win those over.

The A-style has a Fishman Ellipse Aura pickup. The Ellipse Aura combines Fishman's most sophisticated onboard preamp design with the power of Aura Acoustic Imaging Technology for exceptional accuracy and true to life sound. Up to 4 Images can be downloaded from the Aura? Image Gallery software via an onboard mini-USB port to match the instrument's natural tonal characteristics.

This guitar is in great condition. The satin finish shows no marks or scratches. There is a slight indentation on the binding near the neck. There is some slight fretwear. It includes the original hardshell case.

SOLD: Pre-Owned: 2001 Taylor AB2 Acoustic/Electric Bass (Steve Klein Designed)

2001 Taylor AB2 Acoustic/Electric Bass (Steve Klein Designed)

Those who have visited our store know that we have a unique offerings hanging on our walls. Even with all the standout instruments that grace our walls, this one is one of the most original! A collaboration of luither Steve Klein and Bob Taylor, the AB2 is an incredible example of progessive design, functionality, and the beauty of exotic woods!

Steve Klein has been building guitars of signature design for years. Players such as Steve Miller, Joni Mitchell, Andy Summers, Joe Walsh, Bill Frisell, and Lou Reed have played his acoustics. Stanley Clark, Billy Sheehan and Sting along with others play Klein designed basses such as this one. In the 90s, Bob Taylor and Steve Klein collaborated on a series of acoustics basses to meet the needs of professional players while showcasing the eyecatching designs Klein is renowned for.

The AB2 stems from that original series, a series that was made in limited numbers and consisted of only 3 models. The AB2 is an acoustic-electric bass for the player who prefers more tonal separation from string to string, while retaining plenty of the essential bass thump. Using harder, denser Imbuia (Brazilian Walnut) for the back, sides, and top produces a tighter, brighter, more direct sound - more like that of Taylor's 6-string guitars. Imbuia is a gorgeous dark walnut, and this particular set is figured beautifully from top to bottom.

This bass is in exceptional condition. There are no dents or scratches anywhere to be seen. It includes the original Taylor deluxe gigbag.
