This 2000 Santa Cruz VJ (Vintage Jumbo) is currently one of our shop favorites. It has a Spruce top, Mahogany back & sides, ebony fretboard, Ivoroid bindings and open back Waverly tuners.

This instrument is a wonderful player with a beautiful big voice and simply incredible tone. Fret wear is minimal to moderate, condition is excellent with one small finish chip on the back of the headstock and a similar spot on the inside edge of the soundhole - see pictures for details. This is a 1995 custom Santa Cruz model F cutaway with Sitka Spruce top and Indian Rosewood back & sides, Abalone rosette, purfling and white ivoroid binding.

The F model is visually one of the most striking guitars in the Santa Cruz line. The guitar's stylish appeal gracefully accommodates the cutaway body and the Abalone inlays. This model is an extremely versatile instrument. The F's even balance between bass, treble, and midrange, along with its excellent projection, allow the player to place emphasis where it is desired, rather than accepting the limits of an excessively boomy or bright response. The combination of beauty and versatility in tone has earned the F model a place on stage and in the Shop with artists ranging from Eric Clapton to the classical players in the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet

As one would expect with a 12 year old instrument, there are some cosmetic details: 2 different 1/8 very minor indents below bridge (virtually impossible to photograph), minimal belt buckle scratch and button marks that can be buffed out, binding may have shrunk as there is a separation between the binding & the body, small ding on lower bout and a few on the bindings, chip and a ding in the top of the headstock. Only minor to moderate fretwear, mainly in first position.

The OM Pre-War is a solid wood OM sized guitar that incorporates all of Santa Cruz Guitar Company's extensive experience in making acoustic guitars, and puts it to work in an elegant but simple format.

The advanced X braces, which is the bracing pattern Pre-War refers to, is a good tonal option for those using the guitar for smaller accompaniment or rhythm. This style bracing gives the smaller bodied OM an incredible presence and bass response, yet retains a good balance with strong midrange and bright powerful response.

This 2006 Santa Cruz OM/PW is a stunning guitar. The top has really opened up nicely and offers a full and robust sound. It has been kept in really great shape over the years - only a couple minor top dings (no more the 2mm in diameter, none through the top finish.) Fretwear is at a minimum. Please be aware that the label on the inside of the guitar has D/PW written on it. Comes with a hardshell case.

There are some very minor surface scratches on back near the upper bout on the treble side. There are also a few minor nicks in on the interior corners of front and back of the headstock. This is Santa Cruz Guitar Company's most popular and versatile model. The Orchestra Model has a very powerful sound, yet is an inviting size for all varieties of players. The OM has become a favorite of fingerstylists and players preferring the comfort of a smaller body that delivers considerable power.

This particular guitar is in very good condition. There is very minimal fretwear. There are two very small marks on the top near the lower bout. They are less than 1mm in diameter and not through the finish (being too small to photograph. There are also two very minor marks on the back of the headstock, below the tuners. These also are too small to photograph, nor are they more then 1mm in diameter. This are most likely caused by being hung from a wall hanger.

The Santa Cruz 12 Fret Dreadnought model has been created to produce the clarity and sustain necessary for an articulate response to the flat pick. Building a guitar with 12 frets clear of the body creates more air volume, which allows greater amplitude, sustain, and increased bass response. The advanced X-brace on the top is voiced to achieve maximum response in all ranges, thereby avoiding the 12 fret's usual tendency toward a powerful bass at the expense of the midrange and treble. The guitar's back and sides are made with rosewood, a wood that imparts resonance and depth.

This 12-fret is a comfortable instrument for flatpickers, especially players that like the extra width on the nut - 1 7/8 inches. Volume, impressive sustain and sophisticated tone make this guitar a pleasure to play. The top has darkened and opened up considerably in five years and it simply sings. The Tony Rice Professional Model includes certain design elements that further customize the guitar for those players seeking to emulate the style of the legendary bluegrass player. The back and sides of the guitar are made from Brazilian rosewood, and the top is carved from German spruce. The shorter scale length of 25-1/4 provides a slightly more supple feel and a sweeter tone. The soundhole on this model has been enlarged to 4-9/16, which provides a stronger response in the upper ranges. Other features include ivoroid/black/ivoroid binding on the fingerboard and peghead, and SCGC tuners.

This particular model doesn't fail to produce that warm, smooth sound that comes from the Brazilian rosewood. Fretwear is very minimal and comes with a deluxe SCGC hardshell case.

The 12-fret OO is in many ways a smaller version of the 12-fret OOO. The OO's scale is shorter than a standard dreadnought and the body size is close to that of a classical guitar.
