What would Bob Dylan, Joe Walsh, Billy Gibbons, Vince Gill, Keb' Mo', Elvis Costello, Buddy Miller, and Randy Khors have in common? They all play exquisite creations made by Dieter Goelsdorf of Duesenberg instruments!
In a unique way, Goelsdorf´s Duesenberg design consolidates the guitar construction, features, and tones which have written music history. The art deco style design of headstock, pickguard and metal components gives Duesenberg its own eye-catching look, while the body design bases on the old traditional Jazz guitars like were built from the 40s in Europe and in the USA. These design elements are combined with the best possible electric guitar construction values of the 50s: Grand Vintage Alnico pickups, classical Fender scale length plus a Gibson-like fingerboard radius.
The light weight plus comfortable position of controls of these stage and studio guitars provide a distinctive playing performance and handling for even the most demanding professional player.
All Duesenberg guitars are also being processed by another ingenious German creation... a "Plek" machine. By cutting the fret height and rounding the frets crown with a tolerance of 1/100mm for each individual neck, the fully computerized "Plek" system eliminates string buzz and gives the guitar a better feel as well as tone.
The Starplayer TV is a semi-hollow electric featuring a 60's style tremolo, a floating bridge and an elegant flamed maple back. A custom wound DP90 in the neck position gives an authentic blues tone making for a highly versatile combination with the humbucker in the bridge position. The Dp90 offers the best P-90 sound from a pickup in humbucker dimensions. It provides a full and open neck pickup sound. The Grand Vintage humbucker in the bridge position provides a fat but "open" 59 PAF sound.
This guitar also features Duesenberg's Diamond Deluxe Tremolo. The ball ends are simply put through the 6 holes underneath the roller, instead of putting them onto pins. This saves both time and nerves! When you deal with old tremolo systems you often run into so many issues from tuning to difficulties in stringing your instrument. The Duesenberg Tremolo guarantees the least amount of friction and maintaining the highest tolerances for your guitar. With their specially designed tailpiece and tremolo arm, your Doozy will stay in-tune and give you the sweetest tone with the fully adjustable tremolo arm.
Not many companies will take the time to build their own tuners for their product but Duesenberg has done just that with their classic and yet modern quick-thru Z-Tuner. The string can be pulled quickly thru' the tuner shaft, then the string end can be cut off as normal - but on the rear of the headstock - push the string end back a little so it disappears - then you tune as usual. Easy, fast stringing for sure! You can also use the DZT's in the regular accepted manner.
This pre-owned instrument shows some scratches on the front and back of the headstock, as pictured. Original hardshell case included.
