We are very pleased to be offering this fantastic Gretsch Nashville Classic. This guitar was modeled after Chet's famous 1959 Country Gentleman. The pickup combo is unique and produces great sustain yet retains individual string clarity. The neck is slightly wider on this model with a 1-3/4" nut, perfect for larger hands and fingerpicking. It's easy to see why Chet preferred this design.
Designed in conjunction with Atkin's rhythm guitarist Paul Yandell, this guitar faithfully recreates Chet's favorite features. Included are the TV Jones specially designed pickups for this guitar. The TV Jones supertron is a replica of the original classic design. Simply put, it's a TV classic that uses blades instead polepieces. The blades provide a larger magnetized surface area providing greater conductance. The resulting tone retains the Classic's clarity, but with a bold and full broadband punch. The Super'Tron neck comes with flat blades to keep the tone clear and warm.
The Plus HT looks like a reincarnation of Ray Butts' original prototype humbucking pickup, but is not part of TV Jones' standard offerings. It is a breed of FilterTron designed specifically for this purpose. Based on limited "A/B" testing against a TVJones Classic, I would guess that it is wound a little hotter than the Classic.
The "Rocking" bar bridge and the Bigsby vibrato tailpiece make for an incredibly smooth tremolo bar with great overall feel. This guitar plays like a dream! Features such as gold plated hardware, the walnut stain, and the mother of pearl neo classic "thumbnail" inlay position markers make this guitar stand out visually as well.
This guitar is in excellent condition and includes a hardshell case. There is minor scratching on the truss rod cover.
