While Huss and Dalton are praised for their dreadnoughts, we are always impressed by the remarkable balance and response of their small bodied beauties. And we are constantly blown away by anything that comes out of their shop with a Bearclaw Italian spruce top! We loved the custom 000 we ordered so much, we commissioned an TOM-R with the same woods. Needless to say, it is a killer combination!
Like the 000 before it, this custom OM is constructed with Bearclaw Italian Spruce top and Indian Rosewood back and sides. The combination is a perfect one, with rich, blooming low-end and crisp, sweet trebles with complex overtone - it flaunts an extraordinary voice. The 14-fret body increases both the volume and the crispness over the 000, but without sacrificing the warmth and richness. This baby is a versatile powerhouse, easily transitioning from strumming to fingerstyle - even to flatpicking!
Huss and Dalton applies the same building style to their OM as they do their standard dreadnoughts. The top is built with a 25' radius. A positive by-product of the radiused soundboard design, besides its load bearing properties, is a boost in the mid-range without overpowering the bass and trebles. This is design function is showcased in this guitar - boasting unsurpassed tonal balance. The Italian Spruce top is braced with hand split Adirondack Red Spruce, a stiffer bracing material that makes for a more responsive and lively top.
Other custom appointments include the modern "Stingray" fingerboard inlays and a fully bound headstock and fingerboard. A well beautifully well balanced guitar, both tonally and aesthetically - be sure to come by and enjoy!
