Pre-Owned: 2000 Fender American Standard Stratocaster Red

2000 Fender American Standard Stratocaster Red

2000 Fender American Standard Stratocaster Red

Fender American Standard Stratocasters represent the evolution of Fender's iconic design.  More than a decade of player feedback, culled directly from consumer comments and player input, was incorporated into the creation and refinement of these guitars.  From the feel of the neck to the tone of the pickups, the result is a better sounding, better playing Strat.

This model incorporates several refinements into the classic design.  The body is alder, the fingerboard is maple with hand rolled fingerboard edges for ultimate comfort and playability and a perfect "broken in" feeling.  Three staggered single-coil pickups with five way switching will be very familiar to Strat lovers.  The staggered tuning machines provide more of an angle over the nut for better tuning.

Another great feature of this Strat is the Micro-Tilt neck adjustment.  This feature acts as a shim allowing the player to adjust the tilt of the neck in order to get the action just right for their particular playing style.

This guitar shows some finish scratches on the top, back and sides of the guitar.  These scratches are shown in the photographs. Minimal fret wear.  Fender original molded hardshell case is included.

Pre-Owned: 1994 Bruno Underground 30 Custom ****NEW PRICE!!!***

1994 Bruno Underground 30 Custom ****NEW PRICE!!!***

"Factory Boutique Amps" is not in Tony Bruno's vocabulary, obsessed with a single goal to build a guitar amp with ultimate tone, Tony doesn't believe in sacrificing the tone and quality for quantity. Tony, along with most great artists, are never fully satisfied with their creations. He is incredibly meticulous in his quest to build the ultimate amplifier and has been universally praised for building the finest sounding amps in the world. From session players to Grammy award winning Musicians, Tony is often considered the Amp Guru because of his variety of different amps with amazing tonal complexity, warmth, and balance. With his eclectic knowledge of tube amplifier design, components, and construction combined with passion and a superbly tuned ear place his amplifiers high in demand.

This custom underground 30 is a 2 channel amplifier with Tony's renowned reverb on the second channel only. The reverb is Tony's custom 3 Knob Tube Reverb that is incredibly lush and spacious with separate controls for tone, mix and dwell, as the original design that these are based on had as well. The Underground 30 features 36 watts of class A power from 4-EL84s and a 5AR4 rectifier and pure tube bliss.

The cabinet itself is something to speak of... nowadays hand built pieces of equipment, and guitars for that matter, are hard to come by, especially amplifiers. This amplifier is entirely hand built including the beautiful dovetail jointed cabinet. We are unsure of the wood used but it features an incredible stain that gives this amp a very vintage boutique vibe.

This amp leaves nothing to be wished for, and it is no wonder why this amp has won so many awards. The Underground 30 was the solid winner in Guitar Player Magazines Feb. 97 shootout of 23 boutique guitar amps. The Underground 30 was also awarded The Year's best Gear award in 1997 for Guitar Player Magazine.

While we are unsure of the exact build date of this amplifier, we have done research, taken the amp apart an found that one of the main transformers has the date November 1994 and based on this are using this as the build date. This Custom Bruno Underground 30 is in absolute pristine condition with no major wear to note. There were a few minor scratches to the cabinet as expected from an amp 10+ years old.

Carr Rambler 2×10 Combo Ostrich Covering

Hear This Instrument: Carr Rambler 2X10 Combo in Custom Ostrich Covering
Recorded In-House on a Sony PCM-D50 handheld recorder with no compression or eq.
Carr Rambler 2x10 Combo Ostrich Covering

Long before the birth of Carr Amplifiers, Steve Carr spent years playing, repairing, modifying and intently listening to classic guitar amps. The Carr Rambler was one of his earliest signature designs, and today it is still one of the most popular models. Why? It's no accident that the Rambler succeeds in delivering classic American 'deluxe' tone with dramatically expanded clean headroom, solid bass response and the option of 28 watt pentode or 14 watt triode operation. The Rambler simply reflects Steve's desire to improve and refine the original concept of an appropriately powered 1x12 club amp with reverb and tremolo. Rambler owners describe their amps as being warm, full and round, with a surprisingly high threshold of clean tone, (which also makes the Rambler uniquely suited to virtually any overdrive pedal ever built). The Rambler is considered by many to be the quintessential club amp, voiced to meet the needs of virtually any player, and all types of music.

Santa Cruz D PW Custom German Top with Indian Rosewood Back and Sides

Santa Cruz D PW Custom German Top with Indian Rosewood Back and Sides

This dramatic sounding D model was designed to introduce the superior sound of Santa Cruz Guitars to players that had been afraid to touch them. SCGC’s reputation for relentless quality and attendant high prices kept many from even trying one out. The Pre-War Model was okay to approach, not inexpensive but not completely intimidating either. Given the opportunity to hear a truly sophisticated guitar, perhaps for the first time, players experienced a paradigm shift in what they thought possible. The D/PW’s powerful volume, overtones and rich presence is an epiphany to the uninitiated. There are no unnecessary design features on this model, simply the finest materials treated to SCGC’s state of the art lutherie. This instrument is the best value to be had in a professionally hand made guitar, period.

German Spruce, a special appointment on this guitar, provides a rich, complex tone and is the perfect topwood for many players who play fingerstyle as well as flatpick. German Spruce is stiffer than Sitka, providing more headroom and power, yet more flexible than Adirondack so that it responds well to a lighter attack. This particular set of Indian Rosewood is a particularly stunning set, with varying striations of red, violet, purple, light brown to almost black. This combination not only looks absolutely stunning... it sounds incredible! Everything that you like about Sitka only more, while still have higher headroom than Sitka - much closer to well worn in Adirondack, with a lovely bass response, and bell like trebles. This has always been a shop favorite, to combine German and Indian Rosewood, and in the capable hands of Santa Cruz, it is simple, elegant, in tone and appearance.

Pre-Owned: 2011 Trussart Deluxe Steelcaster

2011 Trussart Deluxe Steelcaster

2011 Trussart Deluxe Steelcaster

James Trussart is famed for making guitars that combine the feel of a traditional electric guitar with the radical looks of a body made entirely out of steel.  A musician-turned-luthier, the Parisian native began his career as a fiddler, accompanying Cajun singer-songwriter Zachary Richard in the late 70's, befor turning his attention to crafting violins and later guitars in 1980.

Trussart's creations are designed to have the look and feel of a vintage instrument with the added appeal of a metal construction. His "Rust-o-matic" technique (a term coined by Billy Gibbons regarding Trussart's unique finishes) involves leaving the guitar body exposed to the elements for several weeks, allowing it to corrode before treating it to stop the corrosion. He then sands it to replicate years of distress, and then finishes it with a clear satin coat.

Equally at home being played on stage or on display as a piece of art, you will know you have something special the moment you lay your hands on this 2011 Trussart Steelcaster Deluxe. The Deluxe Steelcaster has the look and feel of a vintage instrument while also featuring exclusive hollow steel body and custom metal appointments. The steel while also being the perfect medium to display the beautiful Trussart custom finishes also has tonal advantages.

The Trussart Deluxe Steelcaster tone is a uniquely annunciated sound that, combined with the resonant qualities of the hollow steel body can range from sweet, crystal clear tones to aggressigve screaming lead tones. The construction of these instruments is only half of the story, the other half is the finish, every instrument comes with a history and a slight element of neglect, of decay, so it has a personality of it’s own.

The Trussart Steelcaster Deluxe has found it’s way into the hands of many guitarists including Billy Gibbons, Robert Cray, Tom Morello (Rage against the Machine, Audioslave), Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), Pearl Jam, Marc Ribot, Metallica and Joe Perry, to name only a few.

The custom appointments to this guitar include the Bigsby 15 Vibrato. The Gretsch Company offer the Bigsby True Vibrato tailpiece, the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm. Created in the 1940s by inventor Paul A. Bigsby, Bigsby Vibrato tailpieces continue to be made today using original designs, molds, and methods.

All wear to this 2011 Trussart Deluxe Steelcaster looks like it is original to how it left the factory, it is a very cool instrument that sounds as unique as it looks. Original G and G Hardshell Case Included.

National NRP B Series Black Rust 12 Fret

Recorded In-House on a Sony PCM-D50 handheld recorder with no compression or eq.
National NRP B Series Black Rust 12 Fret

National NRP B Series Black Rust 12 Fret

The National NRP Black Rust looks like it just came out of the swamp, perfectly suited for those hot southern blues licks. This National features the new color, Black Rust, and each finish is unique. Nationals have been played by many blues legends, but they definitely were not playing one with a finish like this. No two of the Black Rust finishes are alike.  The best part is, you don't have to wait 50 years for a vintage finish, you can have one right now!

This model is a 12 fret version of the Black Rust series. Each Black Rust instrument is finished with a multi-staged hand-textured finish for an individual look and semi-smooth surface profile. Capturing the look and feel of an original 12 fret National Duolian, the thin-gauge steel body is highlighted by stamped "f" holes, a formed back, and period-correct, traditional ribbed coverplate. Each mahogany neck clears 12 frets to the body and features an unbound ebony fretboard complete with mother of pearl position markers. Vintage style plain tuners, ebony nut, and "National" stamped headstock complete the look of this classic.

With the ebony fretboard and the ebony nut, notes practically jump of the fretboard and chase that hell-hound on your trail down. Classic blues fingerpicking sounds like it is coming from a porch in Mississippi on a hot summer evening. Authentic in it's tone and in it's appearance, the Black Rust NRP drives itself to the Delta!

SOLD: Huss and Dalton DS Custom Red Spruce and Mahogany Short Scale

Hear This Instrument: Huss and Dalton DS Custom Red Spruce and Mahogany Short Scale
Recorded In-House on a Sony PCM-D50 handheld recorder with no compression or eq.
Huss and Dalton DS Custom Red Spruce and Mahogany Short Scale

Huss and Dalton DS Custom Red Spruce and Mahogany

Huss and Dalton Guitar Company, Inc., began in late summer 1995 when Jeff Huss and Mark Dalton had the idea to build the guitar they wanted to play.  While appreciating the traditional design, both had a vision of a guitar that paid homage to tradition while incorporating improvements in the structural design and cosmetics of the steel-string guitar.

We have chosen to order a custom DS based on the classic Gibson Slope-Shoulder sunburst model - world renowned for it's full, balanced expression, warm bass, and excellent projection, thanks to advanced bracing techniques utilized by Gibson at the time.  Gibson nicknamed the J-45 their "workhorse" and players such as Bob Dylan and Buddy Holly helped the guitar live up to the name. We took a look at specifications from the period, and chose correctly.

Built with Adirondack top, like you would expect from a pre-war inspired slope shoulder, this one has all the volume, yet never loses clarity...ever! Additionally, if you are going to build a pre-war inspired guitar you've got to attach the bracing with Hot Hide Glue, which was the original glue used on the early guitars but has been phased out by many luthiers due to the added time it takes to work with... not to mention it is very messy!  Hot Hide glue sets up like glass, offering a more immediate and efficient transfer of energy throughout the top, making the overall guitar more responsive with a clarity of tone that is unmatched.

A  Rosewood fretboard and bridge really makes this instrument stand out from the standard models and produces a little less punchy tone than an ebony FB and bridge with nice overtones. We have found that traditionally speaking, to truly have a J45, you have to have a Rosewood fretboard and bridge, as well as a short scale, rather than the longer 25-1/2" scale on square shouldered guitars. This is now one of our favorite ways to order the slope shoulder from any of our builders!

Last but not least, the appointments are a finishing touch, and again, a nod to the past, with one foot firmly in the future - unbound fretboard and headstock, with Waverly tuners and elegant Ivoroid buttons, and a true "Cut-Through" saddle. This is truly a wonderfully versatile guitar with all the Vintage inspired appointments and bell-like resonance one would expect from the fine builders at Huss and Dalton. This Custom Slope Shouldered Huss and Dalton DS Custom guitar is a absolute powerhouse. Big in sound, yet not short on clarity, this guitar is a nod to the best traditional slope shoulder guitars of the 30's and 40's. Great for strumming, but also ideally suited for players who are looking for a dreadnought body style to venture into the world of fingerstyle playing. If you are looking for the perfect recording guitar to sit in a track perfectly, or just want one of the finest interpretations of a Slope Shoulder, your ship has come in!

Pre-Owned: 2011 Collings 0001G German Spruce Mahogany

Hear This Instrument: 2011 Collings 0001G German Spruce Mahogany
Recorded In-House on a Sony PCM-D50 handheld recorder with no compression or eq.
2011 Collings 0001G German Spruce Mahogany

The Collings 000 has the same general appearance as the Collings 00, but in a larger size with longer string scale. Although it’s the same width and depth as the OM, the longer body typically produces more bass and overall volume. This makes the Collings 000 ideal for string-band purists or any guitarist who wants a maximum of power from an instrument of comfortable size with an elegant, old-time appearance.

This 000 features a German Spruce top-wood. German Spruce, a special appointment on this guitar, provides a rich, complex tone and is perfect for many players who play fingerstyle as well as flatpick. German Spruce is stiffer than Sitka, providing more headroom and power, yet more flexible than Adirondack so that it responds well to a lighter attack.  This allows the guitar to be played fingerstyle while maintaining a high level of comfort, without sacrificing the invaluable headroom offered by a stiffer spruce.  It can take heavy flatpicking and just keep getting louder!

The tone of this guitar is massive, very deserving of the Collings' name on the headstock. Low end is rich and powerful, while the highs are crystal clear and extremely responsive. The overall sound is loud and punchy and sounds incredibly pure and sweet played softly.

The custom appointments to this 2011 Collings 0001G include a Slotted Peghead and Collings installed Strap Button. This guitar is in excelent condition with the exception of minor dents and scratches to the top, back and sides, none of which are though the finish and can be seen in the detailed images below. There is no distinguishable fretwear and it includes the original hardshell case.

Collings D1A Adirondack and Mahogany with Adirondack Bracing

Collings D1A Adirondack and Mahogany with Adirondack Bracing

Here is another fantastic Collings D1A featuring an Adirondack Spruce top, rich Mahogany back and sides, and a custom order 1 3/4" nut width for those who prefer a bit wider neck and a cut through saddle.

This D1A screams with rich, clear, and powerful tone. The Mahogany back and sides are perfect for players who find rosewood too boomy. Lead players will appreciate the enhanced note definition and clarity, especially through the midrange frequencies. Famous flatpicker Clarence White reportedly used a D-18 for most of his solos, which has Mahogany back and sides, even though he is known for making the rosewood D-28 the famous monster it is today. This D1A would excel at that task, providing even further note definition than most old D-18s!

This D1A is also very loud. The player of this fine instrument will have no issue being heard in acoustic jams. It is a cannon that will cut through a jam session, yet can still sound sensitive and lyrical on fingerpicked tunes.
