This OM/PW is a beautiful example of Santa Cruz's legendary Pre-War bracing, making this guitar sound like a time machine while still retaining the Santa Cruz balance and clarity. The light amber sunburst is done to perfection and makes this OM/PW really stand out from the standard models.
This OM/PW features a sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides. Mahogany guitars are known for being extremely well suited to the recording studio, requiring little EQ to achieve the desired tone. It is a highly reflective tonewood and produces a mid-range that rosewood typically doesn't offer. The tone of mahogany guitars is very defined, with lots of clarity and a dry, vintage tone.
Between the simple charm and old world tone, this guitar is sure to win over any player. The Sitka spruce top drives for the light and heavy handed, being a good multi-style instrument. Fingerstyle players will enjoy the definition of chordal passages, while flat-pickers will adore the bass response and quick note attack.
