Otis Taylor is a fellow of the Sundance Film Composers Laboratory and a multi-instrumentalist who has shared the stage with artists as varied as Gary Moore, Buddy Guy and Keb Mo. He is the most important modern voice of Trance Blues.
Otis required very specific tonal and aesthetic qualities for his signature instrument. As a fine arts professional, Otis Taylor's vision is a combination of vintage retro and ultra sharp European styling; this guitar looks like an expensive Italian suit from the 1930s. This collaboration has produced a musical instrument that truly reflects the artistry of both Otis Taylor and the Santa Cruz Guitar Company.

The OT model is constructed of Indian Rosewood and Sitka Spruce, complimented by Adirondack bracing using Hot Hide Glue finished in Otis' custom color. The master grade Ebony fretboard is personalized with Otis Taylor's initials. This is a bold and beautiful instrument, as timeless as Otis Taylor's music.
When Otis received the very first Otis Taylor Signature guitar, his reaction, he said, was like being a new parent. “I opened the case and just stared at it—it’s the most beautiful guitar I’ve ever seen.”
The finish on this guitar is stunning. The deep red finish draws the eyes in while the amazing tone captivates the ears. Part of the beauty of this instrument is the lack of excess ornamentation. The elongated upper bout gives it a classic, vintage elegance, while the lack of frets beyond the 14th fret and the OT inlay provides a very unique appearance, specifically requested by Otis Taylor, making this guitar really stand out.
The tone lives up to the beauty without question. It is rich and warm with just enough treble so that smoothness is not sacrificed. It is highly responsive with good snap and punch. This will be an excellent guitar for on stage or in the studio.
