This instrument represents a unique and exciting project with Wildwood Guitars and the Fender Custom Shop. These instruments were developed and conceived by Steve Mesple and Fender, and are comprised and built using the design features that Fender has become famous for.
This instrument features "faded" thin nitrocellulose finish, lightweight hand-selected tone woods, custom-voiced pickups, and unique appointments including a 10" fingerboard radius and 6105 frets. This radius was specifically requested by Wildwood, and allows significantly lower action while being able to bend strings. The pickups are specially voiced to deliver a sweet midrange, and each guitar has been hand selected for tone and weight.
This ’65 Stratocaster Relic guitar is an exact reproduction of the original, using the same techniques and tooling, right down to the “thinskin” finish, narrow dot spacing and ’65 transition headstock logo. Even the pickups have been duplicated to the exact specs of the original. The distinctive neck shape and “round-lam” fingerboard construction further replicate one of Fender’s finest instruments. This guitar features the Fender “Relic” treatment—built as if it was used and acquired nicks and dings.
This 2006 Fender 65 Stratocaster CS Relic is in excellent condition and shows a variety of factory created relic blemishes as would be seen on a 65 stratocaster. It includes the original Deluxe Black Hardshell Case with the case candy including the Strap, Cable, Certificate of Authenticity, Tags, polishing cloth.
