Mya-Moe Ukuleles, LLC is an American ukulele manufacturer established in 2008. The company’s headquarters and primary workshop are in White Salmon, Washington, located in the Columbia River Gorge.
Mya-Moe has created more than 500 ukuleles for amateur and professional musicians around the world, including Eddie Vedder, Dave Matthews, Mumford & Sons, Trey Anastasio (Phish), Ben Harper, Florence + the Machine, James Hill, and The Decemberists.
Mya-Moe ukuleles have been built from over 20 woods including traditional koa as well as myrtlewood (Umbellularia) found only in the local southern Oregon and northern Californian coasts.
This is a gorgeous Mya Moe tenor ukulele. It features Master Grade Stried Myrtle Wood on the top, back and sides. Striped Myrtle is a stunning domestic hardwood which grows plentifully on the Southern Oregon coast. Mya Moe often get sets that have tight curl and the grain is distinct with tones of tan, green, brown. and even red. Mya Moe started building all-Myrtle instruments in early 2010, in the spirit of the Hawaiians who used their local Koa. Acoustically, myrtle falls in the middle of the spectrum. It offers a wonderful blend of warmth, sustain, depth and brilliance.
Additional appointments include, MOP fretboard inlays, ebony fretboard, Ebony and Maple signature headplate and vintage Ivoroid binding to complete the body and geared Peghead brand tuners to complete this wonderful instrument.
This ukulele is also equipped with a K and K Twin Spot pickup. The Twin Spot is a two-head piezo transducer that can be used to amplify a wide variety of instruments, including guitars, saz, oud, bouzouki, balaleika, cello, dulcimer, bongos, and many more.
Positioning the pickup heads at two spots results in a more balanced sound structure and a broader frequency range. The small heads are only 1/2 inch in diameter, allowing them to be installed unobtrusively and in hard-to-reach areas of an instrument.
This 2011 Mya Moe Tenor Eddie Vedder Replica Ukulele is in excellent + condition with only a few surface scratches. It has no fretwear and includes the original hardshell case.
