Arriving Soon: Collings Ukulele Custom UT2 Tenor Mahogany with Jet Black Finish

Collings Ukulele Custom UT2 Tenor Mahogany with Jet Black Finish

The UT2 is Collings' 2-style mahogany tenor ukulele. The UT2 comes standard with the Collings trademark ''haircut'' peghead shape and ivoroid body binding with black/white purfling. With a figured mahogany top, back and side wood, the beauty of its wood and enhanced appointments rivals its sonic complexity.

The bindings on this Uke are tortoise, making the body look very classy and understated.  An Indian Rosewood fretboard and bridge complete the package.

Collings Ukes also feature a highly innovative tuning system by Pegheds.  These tuners are geared and offer much more control and stability than traditional friction tuners.  The 4:1 gear reduction allows strings to be tuned more easily and accurately than traditional wood pegs (or Caspari-type mechanisms which require screw drivers or special keys).

Tune confidently and securely with the left hand while playing open strings; even during performance!  PEGHEDS tuners return the fine-tuning function to pegs. Strings slide more freely over the smooth, wide nut than over the comparatively sharp edge of the bridge, where stress is concentrated and equilibrium of tension on either side is more difficult to achieve.

Recorded In-House on a Sony PCM-D50 handheld recorder with no compression or eq.
Pre Owned Tony Graziano Solid Mahogany Concert Ukulele

Tony Graziano personally builds his line of ukuleles at his shop in Santa Cruz, California. He has been building musical instruments since 1969, using only the finest woods available. Tony Graziano`s ukes are not only built well but they have a very clean balance tonally that allows for excellent playability, depth and balance in chords.

This ukulele features an all Mahogany body. Mahogany has a relatively high velocity of sound when considered as materials for backs and sides and thus contribute much to overtone coloration. Mahogany is one of the most stable tonewoods and produces a balanced woody tone with a powerful midrange.

This gorgeous, like new, ukulele features additional appointments including the rosewood bridge and fretboard, Tortoise style body binding and rosette, and open gear Grover tuners with black buttons.

This Pre Owned Tony Graziano Solid Mahogany Concert Ukulele is in excellent + condition and is hard to distinguish from new.  It has no wear to mention and includes the original hardshell case.

2013 Mya Moe Concert Resonator Black and White Ebony Ukulele

Mya-Moe Ukuleles, LLC is an American ukulele manufacturer established in 2008. The company’s headquarters and primary workshop are in White Salmon, Washington, located in the Columbia River Gorge.

Mya-Moe has created more than 500 ukuleles for amateur and professional musicians around the world, including Eddie Vedder, Dave Matthews, Mumford & Sons, Trey Anastasio (Phish), Ben Harper, Florence + the Machine, James Hill, and The Decemberists.

Mya-Moe ukuleles have been built from over 20 woods including traditional koa as well as myrtlewood (Umbellularia) found only in the local southern Oregon and northern Californian coasts.

This is a gorgeous Concert Resonator ukulele featuring Black and White Ebony top, back and sides. After careful testing, Mya Moe chose a National cone for it's clear tone, long sustain, and lively voice. The result is a resonator ukulele that still retains the acoustics of a wood-bodied instrument which brings out the voice of the wood, while providing passive amplification. This instrument sounds wonderful when played solo fingerstyle, and it shines when put up against the volume of a banjo or mandolin in a music circle. The hand-shaped neck, radiused fretboard, meticulously leveled frets, and individually dressed fret ends deliver the playability that every serious musician should demand.

Additional appointments include, Abalone fretboard inlays, gorgeous Ebony completes the body and fretboard binding, and the solid wood headplate matches the body. Geared Peghead brand tuners complete this wonderful instrument.

This 2013 Mya Moe Tenor Concert Resonator Black and White Ebony Ukulele is in excellent + condition. It has no fretwear and includes the original hardshell case.

Tony Graziano`s ukes are not only built well but they have a very clean balance tonally that allows for excellent playability, depth and balance in chords.

This ukulele features a Spruce Top combined with a Cypress back and sides. Spruce is an excellent top wood with a warm full sound. Additionally, Spruce makes for a louder Uke with more sustain. Cypress is a hardwood traditionally used in flamenco guitars. When combined with a spruce top, it gives a snappy bright sound with good sustain. It is also very light in weight.

Additional appointments include the rosewood bridge, fretboard and peghead overlay, Rope body, fretboard and peghead binding and open gear Grover tuners with black buttons.

This 2013 Tony Graziano Spruce and Cypress Tenor Ukulele is in excellent + condition and is hard to distinguish from new.  It has no wear to mention and includes the original hardshell case.

SOLD: Collings UT2 Ukulele Custom Mahogany Doghair Finish

Hear This Instrument: Collings UT2 Ukulele Custom Mahogany Doghair Finish
Recorded In-House on a Sony PCM-D50 handheld recorder with no compression or eq.
Collings UT2 Ukulele Custom Mahogany Doghair Finish

The UT2 is Collings 2-style mahogany tenor ukulele. This custom UT2 comes with the Collings trademark ''haircut'' peghead shape and ivoroid body binding. With mahogany top, back and side wood, the beauty of its wood is enhanced by a custom black doghair finish, making this one of our favorite of all the Collings Ukulele models!

The gorgeous custom UT2 features a custom Doghair finsh,  Ivoroid binding, Ebony fretboard and bridge bindings and pearloid pickguard which has been left loose in the case as well as the pearloid peghead overlay which bring the looks of this Uke to a whole new level... certainly worthy of taking to the stage with a fancy Manuel suit!

How did Collings produce this gorgeous doghair finish?

Initially the guitar is sprayed black, and then white grain filler is applied. Timing is critical as the filler dries very quickly and excess must be removed while it is still wet. Sanding is out of the question as this would remove the black coat. It is lacquered using polyurethane for the base coat and then nitrocellulose for the latter layers. To accentuate this beautiful finish we have chosen to use a piece of solid carved Mahogany on the top as opposed to the standard Maple. The result is another one of a kind masterpiece from Colling's guitars.

The Mahogany chosen for this particular ukulele has an extremely intense grain pattern so it is an excellent choice for the custom Doghair finish. On close examination we decided to call it a 'Stone Washed' Doghair - kind of like their Faded Cherry, it shows off the grain pattern that Mother Nature created in this very special set of Mahogany!

The tone is all Collings... incredible volume, playability and larger than life uke sound!

2011 Mya Moe Tenor Eddie Vedder Replica Ukulele

This is a gorgeous Mya Moe tenor ukulele. It features Master Grade Stried Myrtle Wood on the top, back and sides. Striped Myrtle is a stunning domestic hardwood which grows plentifully on the Southern Oregon coast. Mya Moe often get sets that have tight curl and the grain is distinct with tones of tan, green, brown. and even red. Mya Moe started building all-Myrtle instruments in early 2010, in the spirit of the Hawaiians who used their local Koa. Acoustically, myrtle falls in the middle of the spectrum. It offers a wonderful blend of warmth, sustain, depth and brilliance.

Additional appointments include, MOP fretboard inlays, ebony fretboard, Ebony and Maple signature headplate and vintage Ivoroid binding to complete the body and geared Peghead brand tuners to complete this wonderful instrument.

This ukulele is also equipped with a K and K Twin Spot pickup. The Twin Spot is a two-head piezo transducer that can be used to amplify a wide variety of instruments, including guitars, saz, oud, bouzouki, balaleika, cello, dulcimer, bongos, and many more.

Positioning the pickup heads at two spots results in a more balanced sound structure and a broader frequency range. The small heads are only 1/2 inch in diameter, allowing them to be installed unobtrusively and in hard-to-reach areas of an instrument.

This 2011 Mya Moe Tenor Eddie Vedder Replica Ukulele is in excellent + condition with only a few surface scratches. It has no fretwear and includes the original hardshell case.
