This Gypsy Jazz Guitar is a wonderful Selmer-style guitar made by the French luthiers Gerald Alonso and Fabian Le Dosseur (ALD) in Rouen, France. Endorsed by renowned guitarist Angelo Debarre, this is a classic gypsy jazz guitar with an open, nuanced voice and a modern, comfortable neck. The craftsmanship is impeccable with a solid Spruce top and the traditional laminated Rosewood back and sides found on Selmer-inspired guitars.
This instument offers a bright, crispy and powerful high-end and a very fast response. Great bass response as well as a mellower high end.
Pure Selmer style crispness, very light in construction, dynamic and huge projection. Identical in detail with the best of the era of the original oval-holes, with some structural upgrades to Selmers' weak points. The neck has the same dimensions, but a slightly more comfortable profile.
ALD's have a unique and easily distinguishable tonal palette that is open, complex, and bold. This instrument is well suited to the needs of the contemporary Gypsy jazz guitarist as it has a well balanced frequency response, plentiful volume, and a modern neck profile.
The precision fretwork and neck geometry allow for an easy-playing low action setup that is critical for today's highly technical style of playing. The workmanship is phenomenal, with every little detail done to perfection, making this instrument a treat both for the eye and the ear.
This ALD Gypsy Guitar Spruce and Macassar Ebony Pre-Owned 2011 is in Excellent Condition with a few things to note. There are little light surface scratches throughout the back of the guitar as well as 1 ding on the waist of this guitar and one on the binding. There are also some light surface scratches around the logo on the head stock. We have attempted to capture these in the detailed photos posted below.
