The Bourgeois Country Boy OM is a powerful orchestra model featuring an Adirondack Spruce top and master grade mahogany back and sides.  The appointments are classic and simple... pulling inspiration from the "Country Boy" dreadnought, named by none other than Ricky Skaggs!  The ebony fretboard and bridge, wooden rosette, tortoiseshell binding, vintage style top toner, and nickel Waverly tuners will look very familiar to lovers of traditional mahogany guitars.

Mahogany has a quick velocity of sound, relatively lightness of weight, and noticeable midrange overtone attenuation. As a result, mahogany guitars have their own sound. Warm, dry, woody, not particularly complex, but direct, lively, and famously easy to record.  Dana achieves impeccable string balance and this OM is a perfect example, with rich and resonant low end and lively, sparkling trebles.

Adirondack spruce, also known as Eastern Red Spruce, was the legendary topwood used on most pre-war American-made guitars and is the featured tonewood on this OM. Properly sawn, Adirondack is much stiffer than Sitka spruce, both along and across the grain. This allows Dana to make thinner, lighter tops, resulting in lightning-quick response with plenty of power to spare. Most guitar grade "Adirondack" spruce these days comes from Bourgeois' backyard--the state of Maine, which still has large stands of original and second growth softwood forests.

Don't miss your chance to come check out this great Country Boy OM... whether you fingerstyle or play with a flatpick, you won't regret it!
