Bourgeois Signature D w/ Varnish Sunburst Finish
The Signature D is a faithful recreation of the now-classic Bourgeois Brazilian Rosewood Dreadnoughts made famous by Bryan Sutton, Ricky Skaggs, Dan Tyminski, and other bluegrass notables. This is the first Brazilian Sunburst Varnish that Dana Bourgeois ever made, and it started a long line of Varnish Bourgeois guitars after that.
Featuring Dana's unique, single-scalloped X brace system, Premium Brazilian rosewood back and sides and premium Adirondack spruce top, this Dreadnought delivers a blend of balance and clarity absolutely required for bluegrass (and highly desirable for most other styles of playing!) --but rarely found in a contemporary dreadnought. Elegantly appointed with a Sunburst Varnish Finish, Mahogany Body Binding, white Diamond & Squares inlay, and gold Waverly tuners w/ wood buttons.
Brazilian Rosewood is an extremely rare tonewood with deep bass and brilliant trebles that was used on the famous vintage guitars we have all grown to love. An international trade embargo on Brazilian rosewood products guarantees that the relatively few sets remaining in this country will continue to spiral in price as the supply dwindles. Brazilian brings remarkable darkness, depth, and warmth; while exhibiting glorious overtones across the entire tonal spectrum.
As Brazilian Rosewood is in short supply and no one really knows how much will be available in the years to come, this is an instrument that is sure to climb in rarity and value.
This dreadnought has remarkable balance and clarity. The high end is crystal clear, sure to cut through any bluegrass ensemble. This guitar also has a surprising bass response, with a rich powerful low end.
This Pre-Owned Guitar is in Excellent Condition with only light scratches on the pickguard, and on the top under the pickguard. There is also some light scratches up where the arm rests on the top in the lower bout.
