Vintage Gretsch 6122 Chet Atkins Country Gentleman 1964

A vintage stunner with the Gretsch aesthetic that we all know and love, this vintage Gretsch 6122 Chet Atkins Country Gentleman 1964 is a bucket list instrument for some and a serious collectors piece for others. A truly innovative instrument at the time, the 6122 Country Gentleman features many appointments that are still unbelievably contemporary even in today's world!

"Upon examination, this guitar appears cosmetically and structurally to be in extra-fine original condition" - George Gruhn (see the full appraisal in the photos). Gretsch guitars have always been synonymous with the early beginnings of Rock n Roll, and this Vintage Gretsch 6122 bangs out rock n roll power with the rest of them! The classic and royal appointed body features white bindings throughout the whole instrument and an aluminum bigsby tailpiece for all the vibrato you could ever want. The Gretsch designed mute foam pieces have been replaced and work wonderfully if you want to throw on some reverb and give your strings a percussive vibe. The pickup combination is a Supertron in the neck & a Filtertron in the bridge, the presence of the Supertron neck pickup is what separates this later model from the 1962 model that was famously played by George Harrison. The sound is authentic Gretsch with pleasing clean tones and barking gain that just always seems to fit perfect in any mix!

This Pre-Owned Guitar is in Very Good Condition for it's age! It comes with all the dings and scratches associate with a vintage instrument, and over the years the binding has aged (turned a little yellowish). All in all you can read the George Gruhn Appraisal in the photos for more details!
