Collings OM2H T Baked Sitka and East Indian Rosewood

Collings OM2H T

The new Traditional or "T" Series of dreadnought and OM guitars reflect Bill Collings' return to his guitar making roots and offer a new tonal variation on the distinctive Collings sound.  Prompted by the development of the depression-era inspired Waterloo guitars, Bill had an idea for a new series of Collings guitars that would possess a strong fundamental tonal response characteristic of vintage guitars from the 1930s era.

Each T Series guitar is built using animal protein glue and a very thin all-nitrocellulose lacquer finish on the body, making them exceptionally dynamic and responsive.  Bracing and tone woods are adjusted for weight and thickness to create a voicing characterized by warm rounded highs and a present low midrange, while retaining a quick attack and strong projection.

The T Series models also feature a new Traditional neck profile based on their popular Vintage Now neck, but with a slightly more tapered carve and rolled fingerboard edges.  Vintage-inspired appointments include gold mother of pearl inlays with small brown herringbone purflings for 2H-style guitars.

This particular Traditional model features a custom baked Sitka top, Beautiful Sunburst Finish(top), East Indian Rosewood back and sides, Animal protein glue,  Very thin all-nitrocellulose lacquer body finish w/ aging toner, w/ custom wood rosette, Diamond & Square Inlays, Custom neck profile 1 3/4" bone nut w/ 2 1/4" bridge spacing, Cutthrough bone saddle, and no tongue brace.

The OM has turned into one of the most popular steel-string acoustic guitar body shapes in the world. While Collings is certainly not the first to build them, they bring a new tonal clarity to the depth and warmth usually associated with such a large, deep-bodied guitar.

This instrument features a Baked Sitka Top. Its combination of strength and elasticity translates into a broad dynamic range, yielding crisp articulation and allowing for everything from aggressive strumming and flatpicking to fingerpicking.

This Pre-Owned Guitar is in Excellent Condition w/ only light scratches on the pickguard.
