Maton manufactures its own proprietary pickups, which we consider essential to maintaining the sound of both the instrument and its internal amplification system.

After much research and development, the first Maton AP4 Pickup system was created.The innovation continued when Maton, in collaboration with guitar legend Tommy Emmanuel, developed the AP5-Original (previously the APMic system). 

The current AP5-Pro model has numerous features, including a sweep-able mid-range, from 600hz to 2400hz.

The AP5-Pro System utilizes both the bridge-based 6-pickup system and a microphone which is located in the body of the guitar to pick up on the natural acoustic qualities of the instrument.

The AP5-Pro is considered by many to be one of the finest acoustic pick ups on the market today
