Fender Custom Shop

The Journeyman Relic series from the Fender Custom Shop are designed and built to vintage specifications from the golden age of Fender Guitars. These guitars have been aged to have the same look, appearance, and feel of an actual vintage guitar that spent most of their lifetime being played around the house with the occasional weekend gig or jam session.

The Journeyman Relic models have been aged to the point of a vintage guitar that has been well cared for over the years, but does still show signs of moderate ware, finish checking, dullish hardware, and a few of the light dings and scratches that you would expect to find on a 60 year old instrument.

The Fender Custom Shop 1961 Relic Stratocaster takes you back to a pivotal period in the instrument’s history, when surf music caught a huge wave and the Strat entered a phenomenal new decade. Its lightweight alder body features a Relic lacquer finish that evokes years of wear and tear, and sparkling tone comes from three hand-wound Texas Special™ pickups with modern five-way switching and Vintage Modified wiring.

Other premium features include a tinted quartersawn maple neck with a mid-’60s oval “C” profile and small headstock, 9.5”-radius rosewood fingerboard with jumbo frets and bone nut, three-ply mint green pickguard, and vintage hardware.

This instrument is in Excellent + Condition aside from the obvious factory relic.

Includes Hardshell Case.
