Huss and Dalton TD R Thermo - Torrefied Adirondack Top, Brazilian Back & Sides, with 42 Style Abalone Inlay
This Huss and Dalton features a thermo-cured "torrefied" Adirondack top over select Brazilian Rosewood.
The topwood on this guitar is Thermo-Cured Appalachian Red Spruce, one of the most aggressive and powerful woods available. Red Spruce provides virtually unlimited headroom when played hard, perfect for heavy handed bluegrass players who are competing with louder string band instruments such as banjos and fiddles.
Huss and Dalton's Thermo-Cured Appalachian Red Spruce tops are treated with the Torrefaction curing process, to advance aging. The TD-R is the most popular model in the H&D catalog, sought out by players who compare it with vintage instruments from a bygone era. The cooked top, old school hide glue, and Brazilian Rosewood blurs the lines!
Hide Glue sets up very hard, like glass, allowing more energy transfer through the bracing. Hot Hide Glue adds responsiveness across the spectrum. This type of glue was used on the vintage guitars we have all coveted, but later phased out due to the extensive time & skill required to use it, not to mention the mess it makes. The sonic benefits can't be ignored, adding not only responsiveness, but a new level of detail and clarity.
This instrument is in Excellent + Condition with only some light pick scratches on the pickguard.
