National M2 Single Cone Wood Body Resonator Guitar
The National M2 single cone wood body resonator was a reintroduction of the original M1-Mahogany, which was produced from 1991 - 1994. National ResoPhonic had received many requests to bring this model back.
True to historic construction of vintage National resonators, the National M2 has a laminate mahogany top and back with solid mahogany sides and neck. The body top is bound in grained ivoroid celluloid for that true vintage vibe. The headstock has an engraved pearloid overlay and 3-on-a-plate closed gear tuners. The fretboard is made of rosewood with mother of pearl diamond fretmarkers. The cover plate and tail piece have the new National satin nickel "aged look" finish.
The National M2 has all the sonic power of National's spun aluminum biscuit cone with the warmth of a wood body resonator. The tone is rich and warm with pleasant and controlled reverberation and just enough clarity.
In their catalog offering of 72 different models, the M2 is a great compliment to either a tricone or single cone metal body, with a tonal reference more akin to an acoustic guitar (less 'in your face' resonator sound). It still offers the distinctive National projection and brilliant note clarity, baked in with outstanding natural reverb qualities.
This instrument is in Excellent Condition with very minor fret wear.
Includes Hardshell Case.
