National ResoPhonic Mahogany 14 Fret Thunderbox
The latest version of Nationals standard M-14. The newly improved M-14T features a 4" deep body, improving the low end response and creating a louder, punchier instrument. The body is composed of laminate top and back, and solid mahogany sides. This instrument also features a mahogany neck, ebony fretboard and mother-of-pearl position markers.
Playing this stunning guitar, it is very easy to get lost in the warmth of it's voice. Like playing a vintage radio, or the feeling of a good vinyl record, the classic sound of all National guitars come from the iconic AlNiCo National cones. Hand-spun, these cones are vital to making any resonator sound like a classic.
Mahogany is a good wood to anchor a discussion of tones, as a lot of other wood tones can be described in relation to it. Its essential sonic profile is well represented in the midrange frequencies. Acoustic guitars in general tend to live in the midrange portion of the sound spectrum, but mahogany in particular displays a lot of midrange character.
The tone of the Thunderbox is much larger and fuller than the other wood body Nationals, thanks to the deeper body. When compared to the metal bodied Nationals, the wood bodies are much warmer with a bit more controlled reverberation.
Hardshell case included.
