Here is an opportunity to own a vintage OMI Dobro guitar with modern amenities! Designed and produced by Original Music Instruments Company/Dobro guitars, this Duolian model resophonic guitar features a 1981 year brass body made in the Huntington Beach, California factory.
According to our consignor, this guitar is a bit of a Frankenstein guitar. While the body is original to the instrument, the neck, serial numbered 2-15-11 (as shown in the photo section) inside on the banjo stick is NOT ORIGINAL. Notes from our consignor - "This 1981 Dobro has a 2011 neck that was crafted by National ResoPhonic Guitars. The neck was modified and set to the body by Marc Shoenberger, who formerly worked at both the Dobro and National shops."
Including a new National hand spun cone, this guitar has all the sound and feel of a vintage guitar, with the benefit of modern touches. The National neck also has an adjustable truss rod.
This 1981 OMI Dobro Duolian Brass Body Resonator is in Great Condition with some light surface scratches on the body as well as some buckle rash on the back. The strap button has also been removed. This instrument does not have a pickup installed and is optional to the next owner. Please contact us if you have other questions.
W. T.'s Review "If I didn't want a Style O-14 guitar already...! This classic OMI Dobro is about as close to owning an original guitar while including the modern details of a National. Loud with a bark, and perfect for a Muddy' tone, this vintage Dobro keeps up with all our favorite new Nationals in stock. You have to try it!"
Purchasing this instrument includes a Hardshell Case.
