1979 Guild Navarre F-50R
Nothing sings out as bold and true as a Guild jumbo acoustic guitar. They are the original Guild flat-tops, first manufactured in Manhattan in 1954. From the beauty of the spruce and the elegance of the rosewood to the depth of the nitrocellulose finish, Guild quality is well-known. If you like the projection of a real jumbo acoustic, these guitars are for you. Introduced in 1954, the Guild Navarre F-50 was the top of the acoustic flat-top line and was popularized by exceptional players such as Eric Clapton, who graced the cover of the 1968 Guild catalog. In 1965 Guild introduced the F-50R which appropriately featured Rosewood back and sides. With the combination of the Rosewood and the Sitka Spruce on top this guild produces a very well rounded warm tone. Because of its jumbo body size this Guild also has plenty of volume.
Some of the other fine appointments on this Guild F-50R include an Ebony Fretboard, Mother-of-Pearl and Abalone Position Inlays, Gold Plated Tuners, Ebony Bridge, Black celluloid Pickguard, and a Solid Peghead with a G-Shield inlay.
This F50R Jumbo features a Fishman Matrix Natural II pickup. "The flatter response of the Natural II is a good match for large, boomy guitars such as scalloped-braced dreadnoughts and jumbos. Because of its excellent resistance to feedback, the Natural II is also a good choice for all guitars that are played at high amplified stage volumes." -From Fishmans Website
This guitar does have various scratches on the top, back, sides, and headstock that are expected from a 30+ year old guitar. The bridge has been reglued sometime in the past, though we are not sure who reglued the bridge it is a professional installation. We did have the bridge plate repaired as well, this work was performed by Joe Glaser instruments. Hardshell Case included.
