Gibson's Custom Guitar Works in Nashville Tennessee does all the electric guitars for the hundred year old firm. A select group of inspired artisans carry on Gibson's century-old tradition of creating exquisite, investment quality instruments that represent the highest standards of imaginative design and masterful craftsmanship.

To revive the very essence of the original '59 Les Paul Standard guitar, Gibson Custom spared no expense, painstakingly recreating each part of the 1959 Reissue Les Paul piece by piece. The original non-weight-relieved mahogany body, hand-carved and bookmatched maple top, and holly-head veneer headstock are only the beginning.

The accuracy of the details go all the way down to the straight-line positioning of the 1959 Reissue Les Paul's vintage-style tulip tuners, the size and shape of the acrylic trapezoid block inlays, and the '50-style long neck tenon joint. If you hold the Gibson Custom 1959 Reissue Les Paul up to the original, you would be more than hard pressed to tell them apart.

The AA flamed maple top is exactly the kind of wood that went on the Les Pauls in '59. Burstbucker 1 and 2 pickups are precision re-creations of original "Patent Applied For" pickups, right down to the mismatched windings.

Original bumblebee capacitors, long-tenon 1959 rounded neck profile, CTS pots, original aluminum stopbar, and tons of other details make it look, sound, and play identically to the original.
