2003 Pre Owned Hofner Electric Bass 1963 Re Issue Beatle Bass

Höfner was established in 1887 by Karl Höfner who was followed by two of his sons and his grandaughter in developing the company into a world leading instrument manufacturer. They are located at Hagenau, Bavaria, Germany and also at Beijing, China. Check out the specs on this Pre Owned Hofner.

In 1956, Walter Höfner had an idea for a violin shaped semi-acoustic bass. Launched at that years Frankfurt Music Show, his idea revolutionized popular music. And, with continuous production from 1956, this bass is one of the few guitars available today that can trace it's origins back to the very beginning of Rock 'n' Roll.

This is an exact replica of the Höfner '63 model Violin Bass. The narrow neck and scale length of 30" ensure optimum playability. The Höfner Vintage ’63 captures its characteristic deep, warm tone, reminiscent of a full-size string bass. Built to be as durable as its legacy, the compact-sized, easy-to-play, light-in-weight Vintage ’63 is equally at home on stage or in the studio.

Many players revere Höfner’s Violin Bass as a legend because of its historical significance and its warm, woody, double-bass-like amplified tone. The Höfner Violin Bass is a unique instrument with a smooth, sweet sound and a playing ease that simply eludes most ordinary basses.

This 2003 Hofner Electric Bass 1963 Re Issue Beatle Bass is in excellent condition with only a few very minor dents and scratches which we attempted to capture in the detailed photos below. It has minor fretwear and includes the original hardshell case.
