2005 Fender American Vintage Series 62 Telecaster Custom Ice Blue Metallic Finish ID-7108
2005 Fender American Vintage Series 62 Telecaster Custom Ice Blue Metallic Finish
The Telecaster is among one of the first mass-produced solid body electric guitars. The Telecaster is largely considered a "Country" or Nashville guitar but, the Telecaster has forced it's way into all genres of music spanning from funk, jazz, and even hard rock. In fact, The Telecaster was the guitar Jimmy Page armed himself with for the solo in "Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin. Check out the specs on this Fender American Vintage Series 62 Telecaster.
This made in Corona California, blast from the past, plays well, sounds good, and looks fantastic.
In the spirit of the original, the American Vintage ‘62 Telecaster® Custom guitar has a double-bound Alder body and multi-ply black pickguard, C-shaped Maple neck with a 7.25”-radius Rosewood fingerboard, Fender/Gotoh® Vintage Style Tuning Machines and a gorgeous Ice Blue Metallic finish.
Originally introduced for cosmetic reasons, as maple was prone to showing wear, rosewood fretboards became a popular feature that also added warmth to the classic Tele tone.
The Telecaster's Alder body provides a great tonal resonance with out being too heavy. This particular Tele has been heavily modified to meet the needs of the most demanding and discerning hands and ears. These custom appointments include stainless steel 6105 frets, Suhr jackplate, Callaham brass slotted saddles, and Fralin Blues pickups. The control panel has been reversed to gain easy access to the volume control for volume swells, and the original pickguard was switched to the 3 ply black guard shown in the detailed photographs..
Lindy Fralin is revered as one of the top boutique pickup manufacturers and the Blues Special Telecaster pickups are made to bring out some more dirt and grind from a Tele, without sacrificing the coveted "spank" we all know and love. Wound 5% hotter than the Vintage Hot pickups, the Lindy Fralin Blues Special Tele Pickups have 5% more output, 5% more midrange, and 5% less high end for a fantastic blues tone while still retaining that Tele character. These are the pickups that will give that classic 60's and 70's tone. The Lindy Fralin Blues Special Tele pickups are the first choice of a lot of professional guitarists when they're looking for an upgrade they can count on. The neck position on this guitar can cover everything from Clapton to some very convincing LP tones...reminiscent of Duane Allman and Warren Haynes...a versatile Tele indeed!
This Telecaster is in excellent condition for a guitar that was used as the "primary weapon of choice" for one of Nashville's busiest players. There are surface scratches and dents on the top, back, sides and neck which were all a by product of simply being a "players guitar". We have tried to capture these in the detailed photos below. As well, on the back of the guitar on the upper bout, there are signs that perhaps a sticker was removed. There is no physical residue, simply light surface scratches. One will immediately notice the absence of the Fender logo on the headstock, per the previous owner this was removed and is the result of their personal preference. Please see the attached photo's of the neck cavity for authenticity. It has very minor fretwear, and includes a gig bag.
