2006 Santa Cruz Norman Blake Rising Fawn 000-NB ID-5106
2006 Santa Cruz Norman Blake Rising Fawn 000-NB
The Santa Cruz Norman Blake Rising Fawn is a Norman Blake inspired limited edition series of 12 total guitars commissioned by a SCGC dealer, this one is #2 of the 12. The 000-NB features an especially nice Sitka Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides. Richard Hoover at Santa Cruz selected only the nicest master-grade tonewoods for this series and it definitely pays off regarding tone. According to the original dealer, Norman Blake himself took home a few of these guitars, making even less than 12 available to consumers.
With a deep body, this guitar features a much larger voice than many 000 sized guitars with highly impressive bass response and warm, silky smooth highs. Midrange frequencies are clear and tight thanks to the premium mahogany back and sides, while the 000 size offers plenty of punch not commonly found on dreadnoughts. Lead notes are full and round with powerful low-end making this a dream guitar for Blake style flatpickers, while the wide nut width and responsive Sitka Spruce top make this an ideal guitar for fingerstyle players who also love to dig in with a flatpick.
This instrument has an LR Baggs Dual Source pickup system installed for instant plug and play action.
This guitar has playing wear. There are numerous dents and dings throughout as well as finish scratching that does not go through into the wood. The worst wear has been captured in the detail photographs. There is fretwear in the first position to the 8th fret. Hardshell case included.
