2007 National Resophonic Delphi Vintage Steel Single Cone

The National ResoPhonic Delphi is a traditionally shaped steel bodied guitar with a hard rock maple neck, ivoroid bound rosewood fingerboard. The body and coverplate have a powder coat finish.

The Delphi is an updated version of the famous painted steel body National Duolian and National Triolian 12-fret neck guitars built from 1930 until 1934 by the National Stringed Instrument Corp. In 1935, the guitars were produced as 14-fret instruments until the early 1940s. The Duolian originally sold for $32.50 and the Triolian originally sold for $45.00.

This National Delphi features a ribbed sieve-hole coverplate, just like the pre-war original resonator guitars. In the 20's and 30's thousands of musicians discovered the punch and power of the original Nationals. The Delphi captures the classic sound and style of the originals, with the quality and features that modern players require.

Additionally, this National Delphi features rolled "F" holes. It's mahogany neck meets the body at the twelfth fret and includes rosewood fretboard, cross-grained ivory binding, dot markers, slotted headstock with the traditional National "shield" logo decal and three-on-a plate tuners.

"National introduced a new alloy cone material during August of 2006, for production of all tricone models. These were referred to in-house as the Hot Rod cones, as they were more responsive, offering better projection and improved tone". While the tonal difference is subjective, these seem by comparison to offer a richer, broader frequency response (less focused). "In January 2007, the Hot Rod cones were introduced into single cone models".

The tone is a more refined version of it's thin gauge steel brothers, with a ringing tone and plenty of lush overtones. Jump jazz chords sound right at home on the Delphi, while still retaining that famous steel bite that Nationals are famous for.

This 2007 National Resophonic Delphi Vintage Steel Single Cone is in excellent condition with a few very minor dents and surface scratches and only minor fretwear. It includes a hardshell case.
