Leo Fender, who invented the iconic Telecaster and the Stratocaster decided to sell his company to CBS in early 1965. Owing to the brand's success, Fender continues to make versions of these venerable instruments to this very day! One of the most popular instruments in history, the Fender® Stratocaster® guitar is the most imitated electric guitar ever. The Fender Custom shop is know for producing highly accurate reproduction's of some of the most famous instruments every produced. The latest glossy, immaculately-designed six-stringer to come out of the Fender Custom Shop, the Dirty Dozen Stratocaster is a testament to the craftsmanship and attention to detail of the lab’s small team of expert luthiers. With a killer Fender tone and “plays itself” feel, this gorgeous Strat features a flatter, twelve-inch radius fretboard with medium jumbo frets allowing for far-stretching bends and easier higher-neck access. The Dirty Dozen’s soft ‘V’ neck is cut out, polished and lacquered to absolute perfection, making solo and chord work a breeze.
This custom 1960 Stratocaster NOS features an select Alder body with a gorgeous Red Body color! Additional custom appointments on this instrument include a 12" fretboard radius, handwound Abby pickups, 6os-style tremolo with vintage-spec Block and a soft "V" tinted neck with nitro lacquer finish.
This guitar is loaded with hand-wound Fender Custom Shop Abigail Ybarra single-coil pickups, tweaked slightly under vintage “hot” specs for a more pronounced tone. The vintage-spec steel tremolo includes a block for outstanding resonance and depth. Also included is the S1 switching system allowing for a generous array of tones venturing beyond the classic Strat sound selection. Whether played clean or dirty, the Dirty Dozen Strat sounds as sharp as a laser and combines both vintage and contemporary trademarks and fantastic playability.
This 2010 Fender Custom Shop 1960 Red Stratocaster is in excellent + condition with no scratches, dents or fretwear to mention. It includes the original case and case candy with strap, certificate of authenticity, instrument cable and owners manuals. It even has the original pickguard cover still intact.
