2010 Huss and Dalton DS Custom Adirondack Top with Honduran Rosewood

Huss and Dalton Guitar Company, Inc., began in late summer 1995 when Jeff Huss and Mark Dalton had the idea to build the guitar they wanted to play. While appreciating the traditional design, both had a vision of a guitar that paid homage to tradition while incorporating improvements in the structural design and cosmetics of the steel-string guitar. This Huss and Dalton DS is based on the classic Gibson Slope-Shoulder sunburst model - world renowned for it's full, balanced expression, warm bass, and excellent projection, thanks to advanced bracing techniques utilized by Gibson at the time. Gibson nicknamed the J-45 their "workhorse" and players such as Bob Dylan and Buddy Holly helped the guitar live up to the name.

Huss and Dalton utilizes Adirondack Spruce bracing standard on all of their guitars, which is an incredible feature, especially at this price point. Adirondack braces are thinner and lighter making the guitar much more resonant and open.

This custom DS sounds fantastic and looks gorgeous! It is a joy to play and is very balanced across the entire fretboard. Lead players will love the big midrange that this guitar exhibits making every note very clear and defined, cutting through even the most demanding rhythm sections. The sound is has a very defined low end, never boomy, and has a very smooth top end, balancing the tone quite nicely.

This custom 2010 model pairs Honduran Rosewood back and sides with an Adirondack Spruce top for a sound that is very crisp and defined with lots of definition. The Adirondack top is perfect for players who are looking for punch, presence, clarity, and volume!

Denser than Indian Rosewood, Honduran Rosewood is well-known for its excellent tonal properties. It produces a well-balanced guitar with solid projection and strong lows and highs. Honduran Rosewood is a wonderful tonewood that is warm, well balanced and exceptionally beautiful.

This 2010 DS is in very good condition. There are some light scratches on the back of the instrument, akin to some minor belt rash. There are a few scratches on the top, and pickguard and it has minor fret wear. You can view scratches in the detail pictures below. Original Hardshell case included.
