2013 Huss and Dalton T 0014 Sitka Spruce and Indian Rosewood
What makes Huss and Dalton guitars unique? All Huss and Dalton tops are braced with Red Spruce. The supply they are still using, from 2004, was harvested, due to surrounding disease, from the beautiful hills of Mt. Rogers located in Southwest Virginia. Mt. Rogers is the highest point in the state of Virgina with a summit elevation of 5,729 feet.
Picea rubens (red spruce) is a species of spruce native to eastern North America, ranging from eastern Quebec to Nova Scotia, and from New England south in the Adirondack Mountains and Appalachians to western North Carolina.
The T-0014 is one of the newest models from Huss & Dalton and is a OO sized version of their TOM-R which means that it is a OO with 14 frets clear of the body which is prefered by those who use the upper reaches of the fretboard.
The Huss & Dalton T-0014 features a Sitka Spruce top combined with Indian Rosewood back and sides.
Sitka Spruce isn't as stiff as Adirondack and has a lower stiffness-to-weight ratio. A positive side-effect of this more flexible soundboard is that it doesn't take near as much strength to produce tone. A player with a lighter attack or even fingerstyle players will find Sitka Spruce much more suited to their playing style.
The beautiful Indian Rosewood back and sides bring the guitar balance and warmth and is very rounded with complex overtones.
It features traditional appointments including Tortoise bindings, simple dot fingerboard inlays, Tortise body binding, TM style rosette and Nickel Waverly tuners. Additionally, it incorporates the light bracing found in the OO and OO-SP models and has a K and K Pure Mini pickup installed.
This 2013 Huss and Dalton T 0014 Sitka Spruce and Indian Rosewood is in excellent condition with no noticeable dents or scratches. It has very minor fretwear and includes the original hardshell case.
