Collings 03 German Spruce and Madagascar Rosewood

With the exception of the Baby, the 0 is our smallest guitar and is offered with the same shorter scale found on the 12-fret 00. Although measuring only 13.5 inches in width (smaller than a typical classical guitar), the Collings 0 has tone and volume that belies its first impression as being less than full-sized. German Spruce and Madagascar Rosewood together is an outstanding combination of tonewoods that is incredibly easy to fall in love with on
a guitar.

It can double as a travel guitar or a small OM, performing both roles equally well. The same neck and woods options offered with larger Collings models are available on the 0 as well, giving players an almost infinite range of tonal possibilities.

German Spruce has a stiffness to weight ratio that falls somewhere between Sitka and Adirondack, making it an ideal compromise for many playing styles. German is stiff enough to handle heavy flatpicking, but also responds very well to fingerstyle players as well.

When combined with Madagascar Rosewood back and sides, it produces a lush low end that is clear and powerful. This guitar really shines, with a surprisingly loud voice, impeccable clarity, and that legendary Collings tone.

The versatility of this guitar is incredible! Wether it is fingerstyle playing, flat picking, blues runs or big chords this guitar is able to pull it off. The tone is direct and lush with outstanding note seperation. So much tone and character in such a small body!
