Collings C10
While you won't read it on Collings' website, the Collings C-10 is very similar to the Gibson L-00 of old. It is built with a similar narrow waist and small upper bout; resulting in a precise, focused response. The smaller upper bout is gratifying and a true dream to play. It's this unique body size that allows the C-10 to project a more focused mid-range then other smaller bodied guitars.
This mid-range is combined with a solid powerful low-end and rounded, trebles that add sparkle and depth to an already killer Collings. Of all of Collings’ acoustic models, the C10 is perhaps the easiest for electric guitarists to adapt to, thanks in part to the more rounded neck profile, smaller body size, and ease of playabillity.
Adirondack spruce has a "springy" quality. Acoustically, it produces a robust output and more dynamic range than Sitka, which allows it to be driven aggressively for greater volume without distortion. The midrange tones also tend to have a richer, sweeter quality. Adirondack is a strong preference for players who want a guitar that cuts through with its strong overtones, and sonic prowess.
Madagascar Rosewood has commanding presence with balanced tone and clarity. Madagascar is evenly responsive across the entire tonal register and has crisp, sparkling trebles commonly associated with Brazilian Rosewood. This grade A Rosewood has a beautifully light hue to it, and gives off that warm, big, silky tone that any rosewood player would envy.
When coupled with Adirondack Red Spruce, it brings the guitar strong fundamentals, a lightning quick response, crisp trebles, and a warm controlled low end.
This instrument has a custom 1 3/4" nut width and 2 3/16" saddle spacing, which allows our fingerpicking friends to play effortlessly and bend chords easily.
This C-10 is, in our opinion, perfectly appointed. The body is bound in ivoroid, with a simple purfling line. Additionally, the upgraded Nickel Waverly Tuners top off a classy, elegant instrument. The instrument plays smoothly w/ controlled tone, and clarity. This guitar so versitle, you could play an entire show without needing to change guitars.
The C10 model offers a welcome alternative for those looking for a smaller guitar that really separates itself from all the rest!
This instrument is in Excellent + Condition with no wear to mention.
