Collings CJ German Spruce and Indian Rosewood + Adirondack Bracing + No Tongue Brace ID-5761
Collings CJ German Spruce and Indian Rosewood
The Collings Jumbo, or CJ, is Colling's version of the classic slope-shouldered dreadnought, a shape that has enjoyed renewed popularity in recent years. While the CJ is similar in width and depth to the traditional dreadnought, it has a distinctly different tone. The Collings CJ accommodates a variety of playing styles and genres without skipping a beat. It even suits fingerstyle players.
This custom CJ features a German Spruce top, light aging toner on top, with a lacquer finish. German Spruce is one of the most versatile tonewoods, offering the perfect balance between responsiveness and headroom. This instrument also features Adirondack Bracing and No Tongue Brace. The Adi bracing tends to stiffen the German top and make it that much more powerful, with a slightly quicker attack. The removal of the tongue brace allows more resonation at the upper bout.
We've added a D2 Modified V neck with volute & squared headstock, and non-standard tortoise tear-drop pickguard to complete the look.
The tone is incredibly balanced with a thunderous low end, powerful mid-range, and sparkling trebles.
