Collings Custom SJ Adirondack Spruce and Indian Rosewood

The Collings Small Jumbo was one of Bill's first and most successful models. To this day, artists like Lyle Lovett and Conan O'Brian continue to use theirs on stage with great acclaim.

Different from the Gibson Super Jumbo and others, the Collings SJ features a 16 inch lower bout. Slightly wider than a dreadnought, and nearly as deep, the tight curve at the waist creates a very different sound. SJs typically have a more pronounced midrange response when compared to a dreadnought. To our ear, SJs also features greater note definition. Players looking for more bass and overall volume of a large guitar, but with bright clarity and midrange crunch, often find just what they need in a Collings SJ.

This Collings SJ was produced in 2005 and features a custom Adirondack Spruce top. Combined with Indian Rosewood Back and Sides, this guitar produces a very warm, yet defined bass response with clear treble notes.

Strummed hard, this guitar has a monstrous sound. We also find it incredibly easy to strum and thumbpick. It was described by our artist in residence as "being able to level a city block." Trust us, it is loud!

This Collings Custom SJ Adirondack Spruce and Indian Rosewood is in Good Condition. It does have some surface scratches on the top, pickguard, and back. Unlike some axes after 11 years, this one was played, but well looked after.

Includes Collings Hardshell Case.
