Collings D2HA Adirondack Spruce and Indian Rosewood
The Collings D2HA is a standard model in our shop. It has commanding presence with balanced tone and clarity. The Indian Rosewood brings the guitar balance and warmth, and when coupled with Adirondack Red Spruce brings the guitar strong fundamentals, a lightning quick response, crisp trebles, and virtually unlimited headroom.
Adirondack was the legendary top wood used on most pre-war American-made guitars. Adirondack has a high stiffness across and along the grain, making it one of the go-to top woods for flat-pickers. The D2HA is a guitar you take to battle, the guitar you fight for... and fight with!
The Indian Rosewood back and sides provides a deep, extended low end when compared to mahogany and certainly shines when combined with Collings masterfully tuned Adirondack top. This particular set of Indian Rosewood is not only beautiful, it provides a perfect tone and volume for all styles of play. The low end is clear, distinct and incredibly powerful, without sacrificing the strong high end.
