Collings Eastside LC Deluxe with Merlot Finish and Parallelogram Inlays

Since Collings moved into the electric arena in 2006, we suspect Bill Collings has always had an interest in the role that laminate woods play in the tone of classic semi-hollow electrics and jazz guitars, vs. their solid wood brethren. It was only a matter of time before he delved into a new variation. Thin, light, and simply exquisite, the Collings Eastside LC commands attention.

Featuring stylized components of their highly coveted 16" archtops, the Eastside is the consummate jazz artist's guitar with more gain, less feedback, warm fat tones and classic esthetics - world renowned Collings quality, all at a more affordable price. Built with laminate Maple top and back and sides, this sleek thin-bodied lightweight archtop is made for jazz. Introduced at the NAMM show in Anaheim, they have already experienced a backorder log for these incredibly crafted instruments.

We are proud to feature the Collings Eastside LC Deluxe which features custom appointments not found on any standard Eastside LC. To start with, this guitar has been finished with a gorgeous Merlot finish which is further accentuated by custom bound f-holes, fretboard and headstock, or much more reminiscent of the fully carved AT 17 from our friends at Collings.

To finish off this fantastic custom package, this instrument has been equipped with handmade ebony control knobs in true Collings attention detail style. This perfectly compliments the addition of a bound pickguard, which varies from the norm of the non-bound pickguard of the Eastside. Of course, the standard appointments such as the flared peghead, Nickel Gotoh SG301 tuners w/ vintage-style buttons 1:18 ratio and custom Parallelogram fingerboard inlays add just the right amount of class to this one-of-a-kind guitar.

Compared with solid wood construction, the Eastside LC sends more focused information to the pickups, this instrument features a Single Lollar Charlie Christian pickup which creates tone that is evenly balanced across the frequencies, with the smooth response that many players look for in arched top electric guitars. The Collings laminate guitars offer a differing sonic spectrum to that of their solid wood equivalent. They should be viewed as two different styles of guitars, offering different & unique tools for your toolbox.

When plugged in, the Eastside LC deluxe still retains a warm, jazz tone. You don't even have to roll off the tone control to achieve a perfect Grant Green tone. With a thicker body than the City Limits Jazz, the Eastside Deluxe is instantaneously recognizable to the hands, head, and soul.

As it is a laminate top, the Eastside is more resistant to feedback at higher volumes. As with all Collings, the playability, set-up, fit and finish are all flawless. Collings has outdone themselves on the Medium-Fat "C" neck shape Mahogany neck, which is incredibly comfortable to hold, and, if absolutely effortless playing is what you are looking for, you may not leave the practice room! The Eastside Deluxe provides all the famed Collings build quality and style, with a price that won't require a second mortgage!
