Collings OM1 SB Baked Sitka Spruce and Cocobolo

The Collings OM1 is a classic Collings model and a shop favorite. OM stands for Orchestra Model, but 80 years after this body shape was first designed it has become the most popular 14-fret model with fingerstyle guitar soloists who choose to play on steel strings.

This OM1 packs a serious punch, with killer volume and presence - easily acting as a dreadnought alternative. The OM1 has a superb balance and clarity, each note stands out. The Baked Sitka top adds a tremendous amount of headroom, crisp trebles, and gut-punching mids. It takes to a flatpick beautifully, but sings with bare fingers as well.

Cocobolo characteristically has powerful low overtones resulting in a complex bottom end. The overall effect is also a bell like tone with clear, slow decaying harmonics. Fast and responsive, it articulate with ample note distinction and a rich low end

This Collings OM1 SB features a couple custom appointments such as a 1 3/4" nut width which gives you plenty of room for complex chord shapes. Custom Ivoroid-style binding on the body and fretboard is complimented by the custom sunburst top perfectly, providing a very classy finishing touch.
