Collings OM2H G Guitar German Spruce and Indian Rosewood

With a custom German Spruce top and Indian Rosewood back and sides, this guitar has a clear, focused tone that is rich in lows with a strong, pleasing high end. German Spruce is one of our favorite woods for versatility. It is suited to both fingerstyle and flat picking.

German Spruce offers quick string attack, and boosted mid range & treble registers (nothing muddy here). Stiffer than Sitka Spruce, yet not as stiff as Adirondack, German Spruce is an excellent combination over top Indian Rosewood.

Indian Rosewood back and sides keeps the tone rich and full with round notes and lush chords up and down the neck.

This guitar was custom ordered without a tongue brace. As people search for the mythical tone of old guitars, this brace comes into scrutiny. Martin added the tongue brace in 1940
and it has become standard every since.

The absence of a tongue brace frees the top to allow enhanced vibration and results in a richer, fuller, tone with more low end resonance. It is speculated that Martin added the brace to prevent top cracking, but the years have proven this to have been unnecessary and actually decreases resonation.

Adirondack Bracing offers a more efficient transfer of string energy to the top, since Adirondack is much stiffer than the standard Sitka braces. This allows for a more responsive and powerful sound board.

The compact shape makes the Collings OM equally easy to handle, whether onstage or sitting on the couch. The tone is focused and powerful, as are all Collings' guitars.

All Collings instruments come with a deluxe, custom fit hard-shell case.
