Collings SoCo LC Goldtop with ThroBak Custom Pickups

Bill Collings' and his shop in Austin, Texas has been building some of the finest acoustic guitars for decades and has recently turned his attention to electric guitars. The result has been nothing short of astonishing. He has reinvigorated the industry with his take on classic design. Named afer Austin's funky and eclectic South Congress Avenue, the Collings SoCo is all about attitude. This model brings in elements from both the I-35 and CL models to create a unique hybrid that is all its own. Who says you can't have your cake and eat it too?

Since Collings moved into the electric arena in 2006, Bill has had an interest in the role that laminate woods play in the tone of classic semi-hollow electrics and jazz guitars, and it was only a matter of time before he delved into a new variation. After much research and experimentation, and a few dissected classic guitars later... they are ready to introduce this exciting new line of electric guitars.

Named after the vibrant and eclectic South Congress district of Austin, TX, The SoCo LC combines some of the most well loved features and sounds from the heritage of semi-hollow guitars with a distinctive look and feel all its own. A 15" lower bout gives this SoCo a comfortable, well balanced feel and exceptional note articulation.

A set of ThroBak SLE101 Plus MXV pickups produce the perfect tone to add to an already wonderful guitar!

ThroBak Maximum Vintage Series Pickups set the new standard in Vintage tone and manufacturing accuracy. The first successful humbucking pickup was the legendary 50's Gibson humbucker known among collectors as the Patent Applied For pickup or by it's acronym P.A.F.

Surpassing the specifications of the popular ThroBak Vintage Authentic LTD series pickups the MXV series takes the vintage accurate P.A.F. style reproduction to a new level with Maximum Vintage specifications. The MXV series sets a new standard in vintage Patent Applied For (P.A.F.) tone and manufacturing accuracy.

This guitar sports a gorgeous Goldtop Finish!
