Huss and Dalton T 0014 Custom Italian Spruce and Cocobolo ID-7773
Huss and Dalton T 0014 Custom Italian Spruce and Cocobolo
What makes Huss and Dalton guitars unique? All Huss & Dalton tops are braced with Red Spruce. The supply they are still using, from 2004, was harvested, due to surrounding disease, from the beautiful hills of Mt. Rogers located in Southwest Virginia. Mt. Rogers is the highest point in the state of Virgina with a summit elevation of 5,729 feet. The Huss & Dalton T-0014 features a custom Italian Spruce top combined with a gorgeous Cocobolo back and sides.
Picea rubens (red spruce) is a species of spruce native to eastern North America, ranging from eastern Quebec to Nova Scotia, and from New England south in the Adirondack Mountains and Appalachians to western North Carolina.
The T-0014 is one of the newest models from Huss & Dalton and is a OO sized version of their TOM-R which means that it is a OO with 14 frets clear of the body which is prefered by those who use the upper reaches of the fretboard.
It excels when played fingerstyle and with an Italian Spruce top, loves to be strummed and flatpicked as well, withstanding moderately heavy playing with ease. Italian Spruce which offers great tonal response with suburb balance.
Cocobolo characteristically has poweful low overtones resulting in a complex bottom end. The overall effect is also a bell like tone with clear, slow decaying harmonics. Fast and responsive, it articulate with ample note distinction and a rich low end. This particular set of Cocobolo has very deep red streaks alternating with lighter red streaks, the robust Red colors are complimented by beautiful contrasting black streaks.
It features additional custom appointments including Tortoise body bindings and a custom cocobolo and abalone rosette. Traditional appointments include long pattern dot fingerboard inlays, Tortise pickguard, TM style rosette and Nickel Waverly tuners with upgraded Snakewood buttons. Additionally, it incorporates the light bracing found in the OO and OO-SP models.
