Pre-Owned 2009 Huss and Dalton TDR Custom Adirondack Spruce and Brazilian Rosewood ID-9907
Pre-Owned 2009 Huss and Dalton TDR Custom Adirondack Spruce and Brazilian Rosewood
Huss and Dalton has only been making guitars for a relatively short time- since 1996, however, they have quickly established themselves as a premier builder in an era of excellent luthiers. While keeping an eye on the past, they certainly also have a eye to the future of building. This Huss and Dalton TDR Custom with an Adirondack Spruce top and Brazilian Rosewood back and sides is a modern interpretation of the classic Dreadnought.
Adirondack spruce is the legendary topwood used on most pre-war American-made guitars. Properly quarter-sawn, Adirondack is much stiffer than Sitka and Engelmann spruce, both along and across the grain. This allows builders to make thinner, lighter tops, resulting in lightning-quick response with power to spare.
The back and sides chosen for this custom guitar is Brazilian Rosewood. As many may know, Brazilian Rosewood is an extremely rare tonewood with deep bass and brilliant trebles that was used on the famous vintage guitars we have all grown to love. In a session recording, Brazilian Rosewood will not be as overtone heavy as Indian Rosewood can tend to be. It also retains a wonderful amount of clarity, to provide definition to your flat-picked lines, as well a chordal passages.
Huss and Dalton's guitars are exclusively braced with Adirondack, which has a greater strength-to-weight ratio than other brace woods. This allows the top to be braced using less material (narrower & taller braces), making the top much more responsive & opened up. Coupled with Brazilian Rosewood, every note is well rounded, punchy, incredibly present, and did we mention; loud?! However, loud does not mean that this instrument is not responsive, in fact, far from it.
This Pre-Owned 2009 Huss and Dalton TDR Custom Adirondack Spruce and Brazilian Rosewood is in excellent condition. There are very minimal surface scratches on the pickguard as to be expected. There also is some minor lifting of the Ivoroid butt wedge inlay.
Includes Original Hardshell Case.
