Pre Owned 2012 Collings OM1H MH Mahogany with Herringbone

'OM' stands for "Orchestra Model," but 80 years after this body shape was first designed it has become the most popular 14-fret model with fingerstyle guitar soloists who choose to play on steel strings. Yet flatpickers also find it appealing, and when the graceful cutaway is added these OMs are often used by lead players who routinely explore all 20 frets much as they would on an electric guitar. This Pre Owned 2012 Collings OM1H MH Mahogany with Herringbone is in excellent + condition with only minor surface scratches. It has very
minor fretwear and includes the original hardshell case.

The compact shape makes the Collings OM equally easy to handle onstage or when sitting on the couch, and the relatively shallow body (barely over 4 inches deep) results in balanced tone and an immediate response.

This OM1 features a Mahogany top combined with Mahogany back and sides. The Mahogany top provides for more sustain, slower attack, as you would expect from a heavier top. Mahogany tops make for a friendly, sweet guitar that does not amplify mistakes. The Mahogany back and sides are perfect for players who find rosewood too boomy. Lead players will appreciate the enhanced note definition and clarity, especially through the midrange frequencies.

This Mahogany OM1 is absolutely gorgeous. It is appointed with a simple Herringbone purfling and high gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The removal of the fingerboard inlays and the addition of the Nickel waverly tuners with Ebony buttons provides a simplistic beauty and style all it's own.
