Waterloo WL-14L Guitar with Sunburst Finish with Small Neck Profile ID-10890
Waterloo WL-14L with Sunburst Finish
Bill Collings has done it again by producing Waterloo guitars. The new line of guitars from the Colling factory has succeded in paying homage to these guitars from times past.
This guitar line is a look back in time to when there was a genuine need for soulful tone that could be coaxed from simple instruments. The blues, country, and folk music played on these instruments was made in heartfelt response to the hard times of the depression era
The WL-14 is the flagship model of the Waterloo guitar line and the inspiration that started it all.
A Solid Sitka top with Solid Mahogany sides and back, Vintage inspired V neck profile with Ebony nut are just some of the depression era appointments. In either a Ladder braced or X braced configuration, these wonderful instruments also can be ordered with a Tbar for the vintage purist or adjustable truss rod for those who want the best of both worlds.
From the Waterloo website:
"American roots music was born back when there was a need for soulful tone that could be coaxed from simple instruments. This brand is all about capturing the voice and spirit of the very best depression era guitars in a well-made and playable instrument."
-Bill Collings
This guitar is ladder braced. Click here to see a diagram of the neck profiles.
This guitar is simply a joy to play! It's comfortable body size that is quite easy to get around on. Although it has Waterloo on the headstock it's clear it has Collings DNA running through it. For a small bodied guitar it has great projection and a big voice. It's a guitar that has something to say!
