Scheerhorn L Body

Scheerhorn L Body Rob Ickes Signature Spruce and Indian Rosewood

Tim Scheerhorn was headed for a career as an engineer, before deciding to change courses and become an instrument builder and revolutionize Dobro design and construction. He is, quite simply, building some of the best Dobros that have ever been built.

Tim redesigned the Dobro from the ground up. He uses all solid woods and has always used solid woods, instead of laminates. He took the Dobro to be an acoustic instrument, which it is, and wanted to make the most resonant guitar he could make. He thought that the sound well inside resonator instruments “locked all the resonant qualities of the top and back” inside the guitar.

A Northern California native, Rob Ickes moved to Nashville in 1992 and joined Blue Highway, the highly esteemed bluegrass band, as a founding member in 1994. He is recognized as one of the most innovative Dobro players on the scene today, contributing signature technique and greatly expanding the boundaries of the instrument's sonic and stylistic territory.

This Scheerhorn L Body Rob Ickes Signature Spruce and Indian Rosewood Pre-Owned 2015 is in Excellent Condition with only some very light dinge on the top which we to minimal to photograph. The instrument has been very well looked after and taken care of.

Includes Hardshell Case.

Tim stopped by on his way to Reso Summit to demonstrate his new line of instruments.
